Check out some of the other threads and do a search, you will find tons of usefull info regarding the dealer.

So even though you may re-install the OEM program it has recorded that it was changed then rechanged back to OEM.

I would like to hear all stories, Good, bad, whatever.

I personally would love to install one of these but I purchased every known warranty and extended waranty and maintenance program that ford had. So I don't want to void anything.

I have had trucks in the past that I have lifted and have never really had what I would call a problem with anything needing to be argued with dealership over warranty. Most of my problems always occured after waranty expired. But I never purchased an extended warranty/maintenance agreement that covered as much as this does for my truck.

So let me hear what yall have run across, I am sure others would be interested too.

I'm not sure that I would risk it if you "purchased every known warranty and extended warranty and maintenance program that ford had".

Come on Guys!
I don't have an 08, nor have I any desire to mod my 03 - it runs just fine the way it is. I have a hard time understanding how anyone can expect a manufacturer of any equipment to pay for a repair under warranty when the purchaser has deliberately ignored the conditions of the warranty and on thier own taken the product away form what the manufacturer made.

The warranty warrants that what the manufacturer made was in good condition when it left the factory and they will repair or replace a defective component if it breaks under normal use. Adding performance enhancements, takes the product out of the normal use catagory.

If you decide to play, you pay, don't ask someone else to pay for your boo-boo.

It all comes down to the dealer you use. Some are cool with mods, others arent. Everyones stories will be different.

If you are worried talk to your service manager at your dealership, mine told me he will not void warranty unless he feels the mod caused the damage, which generally is not likely. If you chip it and are getting way more power and your driveshaft twists off its a no brainer it your problem. He even suggested removing some exhaust parts to gain some mileage. It all depends on your dealer.

Well lets see I got employee Pricing which put mine at 44000 minus 12500 for bonus and 500 for going with ford credit so thats 44000 minus 13000 which puts me at 34000 minus my trade in 2004 toyota tacoma 4 door 4x4 for 16800 that put me financing 18000k so thats not very much for the truck. Besides SCT turner would do the same thing at a third of the cost so Spartan can take a hike....

I still think you get what you pay for but to each their own. Did you order it? Which one? Keep us informed about it (power and mpg wise) if you dont mind.

I still think I like the Spartan options over the SCT. Not to mention the 580+ hp and 1100+ ft. lbs of torque. Plus the ability to custom tune for future mods and the fact that it's specifically designed for the 6.4L.

I just dont think spending $1250 for 3 custom tunes up to 210hp is that much different than spending $900 on 120hp and generic tunes. I guess it's different strokes for different folks though right?

Actually I think you might need to go back and research SCT. They are by no means Generic Programs. They are custom tunes also. You actually call a third party tell them your VIN and what you want and the will design a program for your SCT programmer. SCT and even the Edge Programmers are specifically designed for the 6.4 . Why you would need anymore than 3 programs (Econo, Tow, Perfromacne), well I guess that is your choice. As far as the 580 hp give me a break. You must have more money than well, whatever. You are already taking the chance of really messing your 6.4 up anyway no need to do it any quicker. Unless you are strictly racing your truck no public road driving then I guess go for the spartan. But it just not worth the money. You can do everything you need to do with the SCT (or the Edge for that matter) but again its your money.

You really need to do some research, not just on programmers but on diesel engines too. You are not going to do everything you want with just a programmer. You really should do some mechanical mods to properly acheive the hp gains that Spartan is claiming. I have been mesing with cars and trucks a long time and If all i needed to do was buy a programmer to get all that well, there are alot of people that are doing something wrong!!!!!!
