air aid intake throwing codes?

anyone running the air aid intake? does it throw any codes? i have a chance to get an air aid intake and mbrp 4'' dpf back exhaust for $100. they old guy said it's throwing codes on his truck and doesn't want it. he also has a superchips tuner on there, so i'm wondering what the real problem is with the codes on his truck? any insight would be helpful. i'm used to the simplicity of my mustangs and am not use to all this emissions crapola.

i was also told the superchips tuner is the only one ford dealerships cannot detect because it doesn't stop the hours meter like all the other tuners? fact of fiction?

I haven't had an issue with Airaid, you should be good to go.

The part about the Superchips is fiction. There are other programmers that are undetactable also.

6 months ago, I superchiped my truck. About a month ago I put an aFe cold air intake on my truck. As soon as I did that, my truck started going crazy. My service engine light always goes on, and recently my truck died out and wouldnt restart. Ford told me that I keep going into regen because the intake is causing too much air flow and that '08s and '09s shouldnt get their intakes switched to aftermarket yet, because not enough research has been done. I am getting my stock intake put back in today. I also think that the combo of the intake and superchip was screwing it up because as soon as I put the superchip back to stock, my service engine light would turn off. That is until the next time it regen'd.....

And by the way, when I took my truck into Ford to have it looked at, yeah they knew I had Superchip in it even though I put it back to stock a few days prior to bringing it in to them....

I got the aFe taken out yesterday and ended up trying the Banks since it is a closed system. It runs a lot better than with the aFe, and my MPGs went back up, but that was just yesterday so time will tell...I am scared to put my Superchip in though.....

I have had the Airaid intake for over a year now and it gives me the CEL following a regen. Then after a couple of starts the CEL resets. I had the dealer check the codes and they said it was caused by the intake. I also have the Magna flow 5" DPF back but the CEL was coming in before the exhaust was installed.

Hey guys I had the AFE II and a superchips cortex installed but I had taken out the afe due to codes been thrown. Then I got the newest flash done too my 2008 6.4l so I thought I'd try the afe again with the proformance program of the cortex and after everything was updated I had gotten 5 regens within a 400km drive so out comes the afe. So obviousley there is still issues with this afe and other CAIs. Later.

By the way I found that there hasn't been any real issues with the superchips being installed, my milage seems to be a little better than stock.

I went back to the store that sold me the AFE and told them what was going on, after they called a few of their other stores and Ford, they came back to me and told me that the AFEs should not be put on the '08 and newer F-250s, screws with the particulate filter and gets too much air in it. It caused my truck to regen many times and even shut me down in the middle of the road. The store gave me an even trade for the Banks system because they screwed up, and so far I have not regen'd yet. But I also still have not reinstalled my Superchip, been scared, lol...
