I was wondering if anybody else with the banks air intake system for a 2008 superduty, tripping a trouble code???? I have had my air intake system for about 1 month-and the check engine light came on tripping a p1000/p2022 codes????
I called banks and they said they have not had any problems with codes tripping-
I see the other thread relate to the afe intake with the same condition....with no correction yet???
Also ,i am wondering why it triggers a dpf code other than a mass air flow sensor code????
Welcome to aftermarket intake/check engine light HELL. I have problems with the AFE intake system tripping P1000 & P2002 codes. The company reports a possible solution come September/October 2008; however, they told me August 2008 back in June 2008 when I first reported my issue. AFE told me that only a couple customers (less than 10% have reported problems). Which means they are not working on a fix 24/7; rather 6.5/5....translation is that it’s not that urgent to them. It all comes down to the extremely sensitive EPA forced DPF system and its respective sensors. Ford doesn't want you messing with their emissions system; which includes the intake process. Ford is not helping aftermarket manufacturers one bit and doesn't care about correcting this issue. AFE tech reports that a 2% differential between system sensors will trigger this series of CEL codes. We should all realize that purchasing a new product like a 6.4 diesel that has been out customer BETA testing for about 18 months carries risk with regard to its performance [stand alone OEM]. Adding aftermarket components like intakes, programmers, exhaust, and other mods just compounds this risk factor. In time, these relatively minor issues [i.e. less than 2% differential triggering a CEL code P1000/2002] will be resolved by either programmer tunes or AFE/Banks sending out a replacement modified tube that corrects this problem. Issues with the DPF and fuel economy will be more difficult challenges to overcome and won't happen for a couple of years; unless you buy a SCT livewire with DPF delete program and their DPF delete pipe at a cost of over $600. Hope I have helped out and not made you more upset like me!

Reason: mismatched font
I had the aFe installed and had the code issues, went back to stock. Then I tried the Airaid drop in filter. It uses everything stock, no new tubes to install. A few weeks ago I put 1900 miles in 2-1/2 days semi continuos driving twice for a total of 3800 miles. I figure if the Airaid were to draw a code, it'd be then. But *NO* codes!!! I have around 10,000 miles with the Airaid and no issues at all.
I was pondering the thought of getting a Bank's intake, but with this topic I know to stay away from it. Thanks for posting of your issue with the Banks intake.

they are lying. everybody that has this afe piece of sh*t has that code. afe told me to return it to the vendor or wait for a fix, then the vendors dont want to to take it back.
Installed the Banks exhaust and intake. Check engine light came on after 3500 miles; P2022 code. Removed with Edge insight; has not returned yet, though only a few miles since code removed.
BTW - put on AFE a month ago and tripped up the codes. Not sure about the low percentile of customers reporting this. Bet more have the problem but with those codes pointing to a possible new filter at 1600 bills for the filter alone - possible warranty infractions- and loss of income from their top of the line truck (the superduty); others may be reticent to report. They rest my PCM and so far three days and a few hundred miles later, plus changed the sensor as well, and no more CEL. Still looking for tuner that won't get me in a bind with warranty issues.
so how do you like the drop in? see any differences with it?
