my truck is a short bed crew cab and did not have to cut at all and fit very well, i had to move it around and tweak a little bit to get the best fit but very easy and getting tons of compliments

Blakedog,
Glad to hear yours went in well. Overall its a nice looking system - did get me 1.2mpg increase while towing! That is almost priceless these days!

Installed mine today on a short bed crew cab, very easy installation, the tailpipe sits a little close to body of the truck, but i am gonna try and do some adjustments in the morning. I ran out of daylight, but overall very nice looking compared to the stocker.

I noticed the same thing about it being close to the body. I also had to bend the heat shield around the spare tire. It still seems to contact that though... Let me know how you make out with your adjustments. I'm not satisfied with the fit and will more than likely remove it. I've contacted Banks and sent them pictures.

Starting to see a trend here with the long bed installations. I think I'll wait to see how this pans out.

just make sure all of the clamps are loose and you can adjust it very easily to a fit that suits you. i worked on mine for about 5 min after i got all the hangers installed and its a perfect fit. There is about 6 inches of room to move the exhaust back and forth and you have to twist the last piece of the pipe to get it to align right. It helped on mine to look at the picture on how it was installed on the banks truck in the picture.

I loosened the rear hanger for the tail piece and turned the pipe as much as i could and only got about another 1/4 to 1/2" away from the body. So my tail pipe is about an inch clear from the body, better than it was...but still too close in my opinion. I was maybe looking at modifying by dropping the bracket that holds the rubber grommet, but i am not sure if that help, I think i will just leave alone, again still looks way better than the stock pipe and i do notice a difference in the backpressure, especially at highway speeds, seems to not labor as much....

Installed my Banks Monster Ex. and was very pleased with it. It was a little harder to get the old system out with the dually tires eating up some room, I had to remove the two end screws holding the spare guard so I could sneak it through, with the truck jacked too. Originally it looked like the old one would come out easier going forward over the axle toward the front, but that was not the case.

Fit was great, a little close but ok I think, looks great, sounds a little better at speeds. I cant wait to tow with it now. I don't have any expectations of a great increase in mpg, so any will be good.

I'll post on the results.

Thanks Banks for a fast delivery.

If you go drag out the posts that were made by the BANKS guy a few weeks back, what you learn is that the claim they make of reducing backpressure 47% applies to reducing the backpressure they attempt to effect - so they reduce the back pressure between the DPF and the tail pipe and lower the EGT AT THE PIPE EXIT.

Both nominally meaningless in the grand scheme. It won't be better until they come up with a better solution than the DPF and wasting raw fuel to clean it.
