banks ram air

i just got the new copy of diesel power magazine and on the banks ad it shows the banks ram air for the 6.4l and it says new on the add. i called banks and no they do not have it, but said it should be available within the next three weeks. I would rather them not even show it if it is not available for sale!!!

I would stay away. Ever since the bad 7.3l intake design Ford has come out with some quality intakes for the 6.0 and 6.4.

I saw it too.

It's just a lid and a K&N filter, The bottle neck is the whole factory air box not just the air filter. It does not matter how much air flow you can get with a filter if the tube from the air box to the turbo can't handle it.
If you have to much air flow you will set a CEL during regen.

There's a rumor that NASA never landed on the moon too but I wouldn't bleive that either! It is NOT a K&N filter. Though I can see why people would guess that because it's red.

Then why have all the powerpacks and turbo kits I have purchased over the years from Banks came with a K&N filter and cleaning kit. Unless something has changed in the past 4 years, last time I got anything from Banks

Heres something I can't answer for myself.

Gale Banks motto has always been More Fuel = More air in and out of the engine.

The 6.4 is picky about about getting more in to the motor and setting a CEL. More power = more fuel/air in.
However, the DPF can only flow so much exhaust, the banks DPF back tail pipe has more flow over the stock tail pipe.(this we know)
1)So how much more flow does the ram-air filter have over stock and whats it's flow rate and how does it compare to other aftermarket filters?
2)How much dirt does it trap over stock?
3)Also, I was wondering what the improved flow rate of the new CAC was and does it come with new CAC tubes?
4)Does the new filter match the flow of air needed for the 6.4L?
5)There are about 17 or so different fuel tables the 6.4 uses from what I understand. Does the Bank's system use the same amount of fuel tables?
6)The way I see Bank's it adding to the air/fuel and keeping the exhaust end the same as stock up until the tail pipe. So does the tuning maximize the flow rate of the DPF?

These are questions I have as customer of Bank's and Questions I have about the new systems being offered for the 6.4L by Bank's. You being in the sales department these things I would think you should now for when customers like me call and want similar answers.

This is a quote from Kyle@XDP from when we were asking about Banks filters and what not a few days ago:
"It's an oiled custom made for Banks 8 layered K&N filter.
Soooo, what I am wondering is, who's pulling our leg here?

The Banks Ram Air Intakes Use An 8 Layer Filter. I have a S&B filter that I think has eight layers.

So has anyone actually gotten the Banks Ram Air and installed it?? Any actual experience with it?? I just pulled the trigger and purchased both the Air kit and the single monster exhaust, but I sure would like to hear from someone else who has installed either??
Thanks!

George, no one ever responds when you say that. I wonder why. Maybe because they don't want to believe your right?

Good point. Why would Ford purposefully OMIT a feature like that from their vehicles? If it was something you needed, Ford would've put it in.
