All right - So I think I got it figured out...
...(lots of other stuff)...
...but hopefully that's in the rear view mirror and happy trails are dead ahead.
Shalom y'all.
Awesome Airdog! Now that you mentioned it, I had that same dilemma during my installation too. I honestly don't remember if I figured out how the plug went or just won my 50/50 shot!!! Glad it's working and working well!
I know saying "patience" doesn't work for a lot of people any more, but as I've gotten older (currently 59), I've either gained patience or I just don't give a $@#& any more! Either way, now I kind of step back and look at it slowly, don't get pissed and over react and things USUALLY fall into place!

sidenote : Since I had the truck flashed with the new software update I now get alerted when the truck is in Regen. I have been tracking this. It happens almost every 75 miles. (before the Banks went in and after) The longest run was 85 miles in between regens, the shortest was 55.
I asked the Deisel Dudes at the dealership how often the truck should regen. (I did not mention anything about "Banks" or "mods") They said that every 100 miles is a good average. I said I was getting one every 75 miles. They asked what my daily drive was like. I replied that it was about 20 miles roundtrip and all stop and start for the most part and I pull about 1,000 lbs in a trailer at all times. They said that 75 miles was probably about right for that sort of dynamic.
There has been some chatter on here about how often people are regening. Anyone else keeping track of theirs?
I think I'll be skipping that newest update. Mine has been about every 200-270 miles depending if I've done a lot of in town driving and only last about 5mins or so. Most of my driving is 65-70mph with no load. Glad you figured your banks out pushing me that much closer to getting one. Also thanks for being the one to figure out the install problem to that sounds like something I would do.

Morning Airdog,
Like ndmtnsledder, I do more highway driving between 65 - 74 mph. I have been watching mine and mentioned it a few times in an earlier post. I am averaging 375 miles per regen. This last one happened yesterday afternoon on the way home and it was at 435 miles. I run empty and don't tow and my commute is around 40 miles of highway, one way!
No recent problems with the Six Gun - I have had 3 - P2002's with the Banks Ram Air CAI but every 1000 miles or so, unlike the S&B which was every 150 - 200 miles. I haven't had another one for a week and a half now! Mileage, around 12-13... (but again, can't keep my foot off the throttle!)
Going up to NH this morning to get the truck fitted for our Lance slide in camper... HappyJac mounts, wiring, etc. Camper hopefully next weekend (pending Bank)!
Later...

I hand caluclated 14.44 mpg on level six with mixed interstate and city driving. Some full throttle burst and running empty. Best without the six gun was 13.5 but i have a heavy foot either way. No more shutoffs knock on wood.

Banks six gun, Air Raid ,
Before the Sixgun when I would tank up the Blue Train (I always top off the tanks. I know that some people say you should not do this, but my ADD nature will not allow anything less. Sorry.) the gauge would read "455" as the amount of miles I could go until empty. This was of course inaccurate since I had topped it to the top. The gauge would continue to read 455 for about 8-10 miles until I had drained enough fuel to actually get it to level where it could be read.
Post SixGun install it now reads "536" as the amount of miles until empty. (2 fill ups thus far) If you divide 536 by 38 gallons (tank size) you come up with 14.10 mpg. 455 divided by 38 = 11.97 mpg, thus a difference of 2.13 mpg which is pretty much what I have been hand calculating my gain to be so far. I cried and complained prett hard when I was having my install issues so I want to be just as loud in my praise of Banks now that I figured it all out and things are going so well. To state it simply - I am very pleased to be seeing a consistent 2 mpg gain with the SixGun. It has lived up to the hype.
Over the last 3 - 4 days I have really enjoyed the increased HP too. Previously I was always hesitant to try and step-on-it and get in front of someone if I needed to. Now I have no such fear. I wouldn't say that my head is snapping back when I hit it, but there is a very real difference in the acceleration. I am heading to Florida with my 28.5 BHS Jayco SuperLight Fifth wheel in tow on June 6th. (This being around 75% of the reason I bought the Banks stuff.) I am anxious to report back the results. The last, and only, trip I have taken with the new Fifth wheel I was getting 11mpg. We'll see if this has any impact on those numbers.
Sidenote - I tore the Achilles tendon in my right leg Friday and am now wearing a huge "isolation boot" that keeps my right foot from moving. This contraption must stay on for the next 2 months. So I will be driving to Florida, as I am currently driving around town, left footed. This may skew the data. Just sayin'.
Left footed... in surfing, we used to call that Goofy Foot!

Woah, that could be tricky! Good luck with your trip and keep us updated please!

Hey again guys and gals. Sorry for being somewhat "absent" for the last week or so but I've been out of town (long story). Anyway, Airdog, I have your six gun and wire harness here with me now. Our engineering department already tested the modual and it's just fine. We're going to tear into the wire harness and see if there are any issues there. However, there is one thing we found that very well could have been the problem (see pics below). The female connector with the lever lock has a slide clip that locks the connectors together. The lever lock on the connector is somewhat fragile. When you move the lever lock down BOTH sides have to engage together or the lock will break and the connector won't stay together. If one side comes off your truck will shut off instantly. Airdog, your connector is broken. Please don't feel like I'm singling you out or anything as the connector is easy to break and can be very hard to see in it's location and it's the only one I've had a chance to look at yet..
Here's what it should (almost) look like when the connector is fully closed:
However here's what it looked like when we got the connector back:
you can see above that only 1/2 of the slide is moving back and forth and only 1/2 of the connector is going to be locked in place. The other half can shake loose and cause those pins to get unplugged. The engine would instantly shut down. Again this is only one possible reason and as we haven't gotten into the harness yet I can't say with 100% certainy yet. Those of you who have a six gun should go check and make sure this connector is fully seated and that the lock isn't broken.

Why would I feel like you are singling me out? If the connector is easy to break it sounds like you are singling out a design flaw.
At any rate my SixGun is running like a champ and as I have stated I love the power and the MPG gain. I'd go through it all over again as long as I end up here.

You are really determined to make this Banks fault aren't you? They can only lmake something so strong. I had no problem but I didn't force it when I was connecting mine.

These connectors are Delphi connectors and they're exact duplicates of the factory parts. More then likley, during the trucks assembly, it's probably eaiser to see then when the trucks all together.

If I'm not mistaken, those are the same connectors that are used in the radio system. Easy to break if you don't know what you're doing; it sounds really crazy, though since they're JUST connectors. Not Banks fault, though.... :-T
