I keep track of regens. Im actually a little obsessed with it. Normally every 220/250 miles. Or 8 hours. I Tow 14000 lbs 5th wheel and killed first DPF with superchips installed. Warranty covered. Waiting for six gun to come. Have banks cool cuff exhaust installed and Ram Air.

Well I drive 80 miles round trip empty at 50/55 and have a 1.5 / 2 gal increase. Power ? i guess. I will make the decision on the 26th when I tow 5th wheel on trip to central FL .I was getting 16.3 before the install. I hope to see 2 gpm increase under tow conditions. I get 9.5 to 10 when I tow. looking for 12. Have not put more than 150 miles since install.
Dumb question for the tuner...if the PDA is not ON will the truck function at the last level the PDA was setup or will it work as if there is no tuner, i.e. Level 1

That's right. Whatever level you were last on is still active. This includes the saftey limits, so even though there's no egt being displayed it's still limited.
Has anyone had any additional misunderstood engine shutdowns? I just had my first yesterday. This is the sequence of events prior to this happening.
I was driving around in level 5 for a couple of days. After leaving work, I started the truck up drove the truck approximately 1/8 mile thru the parking and then switched the knob to level 4 and proceeded to pull out onto the highway. I was driving down a four lane road with numerous stop lights after about five or six mile, since changing the knob position, I was coming up on a red light, I let off of the gas and started to apply the brake and I felt a slight jerk and some brake fade, I looked down and the engine was no longer running. So, I put the truck in neutral and it started right back up. No problems since, but I have only driven it about 15 miles since it happened.
This happened on a straight section of road and I was in the fast lane so I could not pull over and check to see if there was any error codes on the six gun.
I still have to call Banks and report this issue, but first I want to try and figure out how many miles I have put on my truck since I installed the six gun. The six gun was shipped to me on 3/30/09, but I probably have only put 2000 miles on my truck since I installed it.

I had the A/C shut down and then come back on by itself. This is not good. I cant imagine my truck shutting down with my 5th wheel intow on the turnpike. If this happens one time to me its going back.

I had two shutdowns in the beginning but have put about 1000k miles on it since and no problems. I am not too worried any more.

Double check your connectors and make sure they're fully seated and that both sides of the lock are fully seated. Also call and let our tech support department know about it. You can see some pictures of what I'm reffering to here: Banks Six Gun
How long have you had the six gun on your truck?
if anyone suspects corrosion on electrical connections I highly suggest deoxit d-5. Find it on e-bay. I use it for work and its by far the the best contact cleaner Ive used.
sidenote : Since I had the truck flashed with the new software update I now get alerted when the truck is in Regen. I have been tracking this. It happens almost every 75 miles. (before the Banks went in and after) The longest run was 85 miles in between regens, the shortest was 55.
I asked the Deisel Dudes at the dealership how often the truck should regen. (I did not mention anything about "Banks" or "mods") They said that every 100 miles is a good average. I said I was getting one every 75 miles. They asked what my daily drive was like. I replied that it was about 20 miles roundtrip and all stop and start for the most part and I pull about 1,000 lbs in a trailer at all times. They said that 75 miles was probably about right for that sort of dynamic.
There has been some chatter on here about how often people are regening. Anyone else keeping track of theirs?
I keep track of my regens and my truck was reflashed a few months ago. I now regen at aprox 600 miles. Used to be 2-300 miles. I have a smoker since day one. 08 with 116500 miles 2 years old on 6-18-09

Engine shut down on me yesterday on freeway when i took my foot off acclerator to begin to brake. I was traveling approx. 35-40 mph when it shut down. This is the second time since Banks install. NOT A GOOD FEELING, luckily i wasn't close to any other vehicles and no one was in front of me...I put it in neutral and it restarted. I contacted Banks the first time and will be calling them again today...
