Engine shut down on me yesterday on freeway when i took my foot off acclerator to begin to brake. I was traveling approx. 35-40 mph when it shut down. This is the second time since Banks install. NOT A GOOD FEELING, luckily i wasn't close to any other vehicles and no one was in front of me...I put it in neutral and it restarted. I contacted Banks the first time and will be calling them again today...
Call into our tech support department and ask for Jeff C. PM me with your contact info as well including what city you live in.
Banks RamAir intake is still causing intermittant P2002 errors on my truck... about every other "regen". Within 10 or 15 miles after the completion of a "regen", the P2002 comes up. I clear it with my Addco Scanner and it never comes back until another "regen cycle" completes. It doesn't happen every "regen" either - maybe every other or every 3rd! It's too bad we have no way of making these trucks re-learn their intake exhaust sensor values. I've removed the CAI and put the stock one back on for a couple of weeks and it was fine. Put the Banks back on and it starts again... just a pain in the a@# resetting it more than anything else. Any ideas?

Intake, Tuning and Exhaust... Back to Banks! Suspension/Drivetrain by WC Motorsports
I am in the same boat as well. I get the P2002 errors, not on normal driving around, but when I tow the camper. I ran the CAI from December to the end of March without a single code, but the first time I towed the camper, the code was thrown. When I contacted banks about 1-month ago, they did not have an answer for me. I also am running the monster duals and since towing the camper, I have noticed the pipes are getting a soot residue building up. Not sure what to think....

Well Rats on the shutdowns. I have been showing avg 18 mpg and have been thinking I would keep the six gun. Still will use it on level 4 on trip with 5th wheel on the 26th. Will let all know the next day how it goes. Looking like all the bugs are not nearly worked out. Whats the comment on corosion ? Brand new trucks ? please... Not seated properly , I will buy that. Any way no code no problems yet and I also am running Banks Cool cuff and Ram Air. Also will do the math to verify (18)MPG in the next few days. Oh and I am approaching 300 mile since Regen.

With these newer trucks it can be dicey at best. Some truck throw a code as soon as you add one and it never goes away, some throw it once but it goes out and never comes back, while others have no trouble at all. If it won't work on you paticular truck (and you bought it direct) we will take them back.

Soot build up? If it's actuall soot your DPF is cracked and needs to be replaced. This is a common problem on these newer trucks (you can see more here: My Tail Pipes Are Black?). However, it may also just be the residual oil on the pipes left there after it's bent up (it turns dark brown when it gets heated up). In which case some simple green and a little elbow grease will take it off.
Just got back from the roady to Florida.
The good news? I got better gas mileage than the the other 3 drivers. I tow a 30 foot fifth wheel and I averaged 12.5 MPG.
The bad news. I went into regen every 25 miles the entire way back. It was only 65 miles on the way there. I am at almost 100K with this truck. Could this be an issue with the filter itself? Was this more about the added weight of the fifth wheel? I kept it on level four the entire trip. The power was very nice but the loose of power during regen every 25 miles was super annoying.

Any thoughts?
Regen cycles should actually be less frequent when towing on flat ground. This is due to the increase in heat caused by the load (your using more fuel because of this but it's not due to the regen) Regenning every 25 miles is NOT NORMAL and says there's something wrong if your getting this while on flat ground. Were you going through the mountains or was the terrain flat? Are there any engine codes in the system (do a scan to check)? Was this happenning only on the return trip or did it do it in both directions?
Inbetween Austin and Panama City it's flat. Really flat.
It was going into regen every 65 miles or so on the way there but on the way back at some point it started regen every 20 - 25 miles for the entire day.
I am having it looked at next Tuesday at the dealership. They all know I run Banks stuff since they were all mostly involved one way or the other with the installation process. So I am not worried about warranty issues.
The only thing they said was that "depending on how you drive" the Particulate filter is supposed to have a shelf life of around 150,000 - 200,000 miles. They aren't sure why mine is doing this, but I have no doubt that it is not related to the Banks product. I don't get the sense that they think this either.
If I end up needing to replace the filter it's around $2,000 +
Let's just say, if this is the case I won't be replacing it, I'll be... Oh yeah. We can't talk about that option. Never mind.

Had you run any other programs before ?
My DPF plugged up and died after running superchips and towing around Florida. That's great mileage you got on trip considering how bad your DPF was.
Les - What was your resolution after it "plugged up"? Did you get a new one? What was the cost? If not, what did you do to stay on the road?
Thanks.
The DPF was covered under warranty. I removed Super Chips and the intake before I took it in. It was 1300.00 for the DPF but again was covered under warranty. Had you run any other programs before the Banks ? Maybe Superchips ? 100,000 is early for plugged DPF. Very important question for me.
Thanks
Les
Les - No other programs of any sort.
I don't know that the DPF is clogged just guessing at this point. It will get looked at next Tuesday and I'll post the findings.
Banks I have a question for you I have a 6gun with speed loader for an 06 6.0 that i tried with Banks to get to work correctly with no luck i love your product and want one for my 2008 6.4 is there anything that can be done with turning back the one for the 6.0 or having it updated for the 6.4?

Sadly no. The six gun for the 6.0L application is a completly different design. While the software can be loaded into it the hardware, on the board, isn't compatible nor is the wire harness or the connectors. I'll have my buddy Mitch give you a call tomorrow and see what we can do for you though
