Well - Not good news folks.
As those who have been following this thread for awhile know I had some major problems with my first Banks install. The good people at Banks took care of me and eventually I got the issues solved and things have been aced ever since.
Until today.
I started up the F350 and noticed it was running rough right away. The engine light came on almost immediately. It settled down and was running normal after a few seconds so I chalked it up to a ghost in the machine. Took off for home and about 1 mile into the trip it REALLY started running rough. I think it had actually gone into "Limp Home" mode.
Then the fire works really went off. The Banks PDA started giving the warning "BEEP!! BEEP!! BEEP!!!", so I checked the codes and about 8 different warning codes were going off. Everything from EGT valves, to Engine Coolant sensors, to you name it. I looked down at the dash to check to see if the engine really was over heating and the factory temp gauge was pegged all the way on HOT!!!!!
I grabbed some brakes so I could stop as quickly as possible and another warning light came on, this time on the trucks dash. "Check Breaking System!" What??!!! Sure enough the brakes started acting weird.
I pulled over and called my buddy the Ford mechanic from the dealership. I told him what was happening. he told me to check the engine collant to see if it was really boiling hot. It wasn't. In fact it wasn't really even hot. I had only gone about a mile afterall. Since he had already been through the Banks issues with me in the past he said, "Dude. Take that Banks stuff of, put it back to factory and tell me what happens." I did, and the truck ran perfectly normally. He said he thinks there is a short somewhere in the Banks gear that was tricking the engine into thinking all those sensors had suddenly gone bad. Once I removed the Banks equipment everything read correctly and thus no problems.
Mr. Banks Power - What do I do? Box it all up, send it back to Banks, let them test it and determine where the problem lies?
The bottom line with Banks for me is this, even after all the issues I have had with the product I still really want to keep it because when it works, which is most of the time, it really works! The truck runs like a top on the SixGun. But when your truck dies on the highway on a Sunday night, or won't start, or dies on you while driving, or throws every sensor in the book at you - you kind of get disheartened. I'm still a big fan of the people at Banks. They are all first class and have all treated me totally cool. No complaints about the people at all.
But I'm losing some hair over these issues.

This sounds like a problem in the wiring rather than the modual itself, mostly because you're getting codes not even related to the six gun. For example the six gun doesn't do anything to the coolant sensors or your braking system. Have you contacted our tech support department yet?

No disrespect but maybe you should consider having someone else install the Banks. Maybe it's just one of those things that you are having trouble with. Sometimes another set of eyes and hands resolve the issue.

I am not offended by that comment at all.
In fact it already occurred to me long ago to have someone else install it.
That's why I had a FORD Diesel mechanic install it last time.
I took the truck to the dealership today and had him remove the Banks stuff and check for codes using the dealerships device that checks for them. No codes. He installed it back and checked the PDA for OBDII codes. The same 8 codes that came up for me yesterday came up today. We took the SIxGun off, checked it again, everything was fine.
So 2 things were removed from the equation. Me and the Banks device.
I talked to the Banks technical support people today and he said he would e-mail me something to print so I could ship everything back and have it all checked out. As always they were professional and helpful. I haven't received anything in the e-mail yet and since it's 6:32pm on a Friday I'm guessing I won't until Monday. I'm sure they'll figure it out and I'll be back running down the road with the Sixgun once again. It really blows driving this rig without it!

One thing about Banks, they don't nit pick when it comes to warranty. They take care of their customers. I really do hope they get your issues resolved so you can enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine. After the update mine has been flawless. I really think they did some enhancments because mine seems to perform better with less regens. I'm tickled to death with my milage. I won't even say what it is because most would not believe me. Anyway good luck.

For the record - If the Banks people have some upgraded codes that lead to less regens - I'LL TAKE EM!!!! I boxed up everything and sent it on it's little UPS way back to Banks this morning. I hate driving my truck without it though. So sluggish once your used to the Banks SixGun.
It's been 2weeks.
No word from Banks yet on what the issue is.
I love Banks but a little communication would be nice. I have yet to receive an e-mail or a phone call regarding this. I have contacted Banks twice. The first time I called was after the tracking # from UPS said they had signed for it. I called and they said they would call after they received it. I told them they already had it. I was put on hold and when he came back on he said they had received it afterall and would contact me be 5pm my time that same day to let me know what they had found. No call. I called 2 days later and was told they had not completed looking into it, but they would let me know what they found when they knew anything. He said the engineers were going over it.
So I still have nothing to report definitively.
To be fair I don't expect Banks to shut down the company and investigate my SixGun, but how long does it take to determine what's wrong with it?
Mine did the shut down thing awhile ago and just haven't gotten around to sending it in been pretty busy and its been running fine without it. So the other day a salesman emails me about the new VUI and I responded that I had the issue and asking what was needed to send it in for the update along with asking the price on the VUI. He emails me back with the price and tells me I need to order one quick before they are on back order but no acknowledgment on the issue. So I get some time and call him and ask why he didn't say anything about the update and I want it fixed before I go spending more money. He says he's never heard of the issue and finally forwards me to tech support not before asking again if I would like to order. Tech support knows all about the issue and was easy to deal with just need to get them the numbers off my unit and call them back during business hours. So for now my experience is so so.

I called them again today. The tech told me that Banks "tester" they use to test the SixGun is broken so they can't test anything right now. Hmmm.. Sounds promising already.
I trust that Banks will take care of me. They always have. As far as asking for my money back, NO WAY!! I want my SIXGUN back!
Seriously, I love the SixGun and I am not really interested in running my rig without it.
I tow a 30 ft Fifth Wheel and it sux doing it with the stock settings. With the SixGun it pulls like a bull. So, I'm just looking forward to getting it back.
I sent mine on the 19th and it came in yesterday. Pretty good being as im in alabama and its usually 4-5 days ups ground. Have yet to install and see if it still works though!

thought i might as well chime in here since i get notified of the thread. Since i had the reflash mine has been flawless. Today I am in Columbus, GA. Two tanks to get here. just under 17 to the gallon and at least 500 miles between regens...I had to stop to piss before I needed fuel.

When i ordered the six gun i asked the salesman was it online updateable? He said no? I said why not? he said because we have tested it for nearly a year and we dont ship until we are certain its right. I kept replaying this as i was shipping it back to be reflashed. Isnt that life in general?
