I have considered putting a Banks 6.0 intercooler in my 2000 7.3 F-250. Banks shows two part numbers for 6.0 intercooler kits. Is there a difference in the intercoolers in those kits or is the difference in some other items that are in the kit. If the intercoolers are different, what is the difference. One of them might be an easier install on a 2000 year model truck. Also is there anything about the design of them that would make it undesirable to flow the air thru them backwards.

Whats wrong with the upgrade intercooler they sell for the 7.3L It will have all the proper parts for the upgrade. The 6.0 cooler includes the highram. That will not work on your 7.3L. The early 6.0 intake elbow is different then the later 6.0L That is why there are different part #'s. The highram is the difference.

There is nothing wrong with it but the 6.0 cooler is a larger and better cooler.

I understand some of the parts aren't going to work on my truck. Fabricating or modifying some of the stuff is part of the fun. The CAC is the main part I'm interested in. If that's the only difference, that is simple enough the salesperson I was talking to should have known.

This has gotten way off topic. We're talking about 7.3 and 6.0 parts in the 6.4 forum.

Simple 3 plug install (no sensors to install)

Both the PDA and switch control versions have built in EGT limiting, boost pressure limiting, trans temp and trans slip limiting, cold engine protection, safe range turbo calibration for use at high altitude, coolant temp limiting (tuner will shut off if there's an over heat) and an automatic bypass mode.

Undetectable by the dealer (no program is laoded into the stock ECM)

Soot output is about 2% higher then stock on the max power setting (when at 100% throttle)

Soot output to is the same as stock on level 5 power setting (when at 100% throttle)

Soot output is 2% less than stock on level 4 and below (when at 100% throttle)

Let me run out there and see if I can snap a few for you.

Also, on the CARB issue. I just spoke with Gale and he's telling me that SEMA is working with CARB in trying to come up with an actual test here in CA. One that won't make every truck on the road with aftermarket equipment instantly illegal. Right now there have been no E.O. numbers issued because the smog test doesn't exist. We're not talking about the "visual" test the state has already announced but the actual "sniffer" test. There have been several proposed but none implemented yet. So, as of this instant, there isn't one.

They will be available shortly though I don't want to speculate on a date yet as we haven't started beta testing yet on those. I've seen the prototypes and they are REALLY COOL! Trust me on this one, your going to love it!

Thanks,

That's a reference to our new display system that's still in development. Not really even sure what it's going to be called yet. It will be out soon though. I'll post up the data as soon as our engineering department releases it to me. It will also appear on our web site at the same time.

The trick is catching the truck here with the unit on it. The engineering crew is working on other tuning systems for the same truck. As a result it's on the road constantly. The six gun isn't the only tuner we're going to make for this truck.

Well .......THANK YOU anyway. If what ALBERT told me is true , I'll be taking mine off the UPS TRUCK next Tuesday afternoon . I just wanted to see what the tuner looked like after insallation . By the time you get around to it ....... I'll have it . It's not like you couldn't possibly have anticipated that someone ( like a customer ) might want to see some photos of it .
