I cant imagine that spending 1200.00 on an intercooler is worth the money. I am regretting buying the six gun as i cant tell if its on after i got used to it.

Aftermarket intercoolers are made for people looking for serious power. The average driver does not need to purchase this. They can and I mean nothing against anyone buying just to have. But you wont notice that much unless it is working in unison with other performance parts.

Is there anybody that has a replacement pipe for the collapsed one that runs through the frame work,or does that have no efect on the flow.

I've got a few mnore details for you guys. The following is from our engineering department:

*Banks Technicooler is engineered to reduce the temperature of the air entering the engine while not losing any pressure.

*Cooler air is denser air = more oxygen

*More oxygen means a greater combustion, more power, greater efficiency, lower operating temps (egts)

A decrease in air intake temperature provides a denser intake charge to the engine and allows more air and fuel to be combusted per engine cycle, increasing the output of the engine.

Compared to the stock intercooler:

1. Overall, a much larger intercooler:

a. Larger in height, width, and a much thicker core (23% larger core!)
(Larger dimensions allow for greater flow and cooling)

b. Larger, more effective and efficient design resulted in a 64% lower hot-side pressure drop than the stock intercooler. This means the engine is not experiencing any pumping losses (Pumping loss is the power used to pump the fresh air into the cylinder and pump the exhaust gas out, of course the "pump" is the piston. To reduce the power wasted in pumping in fresh air, we can pressurized the input air, that is, using a turbocharger, but we do not want to lose any of that pressurized air …that is one of main design goals of all intercoolers)

c. Designing a larger intercooler, with greater flow and cooling, without any modifications to the original vehicle design and without restricting air flow to the radiator is the result of true engineering!

2. Density Ratio Improvement: (Measured during the Wind Tunnel Test: hot air goes into the inlet or hot side of the Technicooler, air is passing over the front (as it would in driving conditions), then measuring the air coming out of the outlet, or cold side)

a. This is the most important metric, as it shows how much oxygen is present in a given volume of air

i. This Technicooler actually shows the greatest density improvement of any GBE Technicooler.

ii. The density ratio improvement of the Banks Technicooler is what matters……….Banks Technicooler increases the density of the intake charge, resulting in greater power and efficiency.

The intercooler is now available and we'll post up some additional testing info shortly

No. It hooks up to the stock boost tubes and all of our testing was done with them. Changing the tubes would require grinding/cutting the upper core support to install it. For a lot of folks that's more then they want to do on a brand new truck. We're going to offer the tubes in the near future but they will be optional.

Good to know that I'll still be able to use the RCD aftermarket IC tube with your intercooler.

The Ram Air from Banks won't void the warranty as it is CARB certified and has a EO #. In other words it is certified to meet the manufactor specs and California emissions.

Gonna be might hard for Ford not to warranty that. Local Dealer knows nothing about that certification. All the rest there is a risk, but the PDA by itself just reads eng peramiters. So that too would not do anything more that a guage.

Intercooler and the 6-gun are the only things that could hurt you, but the jury is still out on that one.

Careful with that statement. CARB and EO# pertains to emissions legality for the State of California. This has nothing to do with FORD warranty.

Warranty compatibility is still up to the dealer and FORD.
