I have been doing allot of homework and I am leaning towards an Edge Evolution. I don't want to do any exhaust mods and I want something that will monitor engine properties. I have seen allot of people having trouble with there Edge Insite not working on 09's and I am wondering if there is anything to worry about on the Evolutions. Any other insite or thought welcome.
Thanks
MJ

I have an edge evo and it really works very very well. It makes a big difference in power, and i love being able to watch everything. I alway have my EGT, EOT, ECT, and TFT on display and i love it. I really would recommend the evo just for the fact that you get to watch your ECT since the one on the dash never moves.

It's nice to talk to someone who has run this programmer. Do you ever have much trouble with the DPF plugging up. I would think it would Regen allot more but I didn't know if it would plug up. Did you by notice any gain in fuel mileage.

I have had one on our truck within the first week we had the truck. I use it strictly for gauges. I don't need to add any power. I have the extended warranty and DieselCare so I'm not going to take any chances. The Evolution tells me what i want to know especially the EGT and TFT since we are fulltime RV'ers and pull a 15,000# 5th wheel trailer.

Well as the dpf plugging up it does plug up quicker on level 4 than on stock mode because of the extra fuel being adding. In the end the milage you gain on level 4 is lost because you regen a little more than stock so it evens out. Right now i'm running on level 2 and regen every 250-265 miles. In level 4 it was every 178 miles right on the button i would go into regen.

Installed my edge today. I love it. It is just the right amount of power and the gages are fantastic. I am glad I went the way I did, I think it was a good fit for what I was wanting to accomplish.

Says the Evolution displays DPF Regeneration Status. Does this seem to be working well? Does it have a bar the drops as it regens or something? Anyone have a picture of that part of the display. I'm very interested in this after reading up on it.
I am with Happycamper, I bought one for the monitoring capabilities as you do not have to drill the manifold for the EGT temps. I monitor the eng temp, boost, tranny temp and the egts. When the truck goes into regen, the monitor will flash "regen alert" in red...it really gets your attention, after hitting enter a few times to go back to the gauge display, it will display a small "R" in the lower right off the display to show the regen is still in process. I have not done any programming with it. My regens are right around 650-miles regardless of whether I am towing or not, and it has been that way since the truck was new.

JIM342STRKR, correct me if I am wrong but are you asking if the monitor shows a status bar of how much of the regening process has been completed. If that is your question the answer is no. It only tells you if you are in Regen or not.
I think that would be an excellent addition. Something that would tell you if you were 42% clean or the process is 72% completed. Now that would be something.

Overall how has this programmer done? Can you post your results? Mainly your MPG now that it has been installed for a while?
Thanks
I have my Edge Evolution on my truck for over 30K miles by now. My truck is a "motorhome" (Earthroamer) that weighs around 17,000 lb normally. So, it is in essence always loaded down.
I've been running the EVO on level 2 (towing) for the most part, but since the last Ford reprogramming update (about 6K miles ago), I've been keeping it at Level 1 (economy). In either case, I experienced an increase of 1 to 1.5 MPG. As far as the regeneration is concerned, on level 1, my regens happen between 100 to 250 miles depending on how many hills I climb :-) (I live in high altitude 6000+ feet and travel mountains a lot).
Even level 1 adds a considerable amount of power (better response, tighter shifts). Without pulling my Wrangler, I don't need the extra of level 2.
