It includes a 90 degree Aluminum bracket. The 6.4L has a different A-Pillar, and I checking to see if Edge released a new mount under the grab handle for the 2008-Up pillar mount.

UPdate, I found this mount:
http://www.dfuser.com/img/insight_mount.jpg

Looks to be part 18303.

Do any of these gauge only setups have a turbo timer built in yet?? I have the edge on my dodge w/turbo timer and love it! I would spend the money if they did, as they made sure to point out to me when i was doing my paper work on my 08 yesterday to make sure and let it idle 3-5 minutes before shut down for turbos to properly cool down.

The Insight doesn't have a turbo timer/shut down on it..... unfortunetly. It would have been a cool option.... plus the abilitly to calculate for tire size too.....

As far as turbo cooling.... The new diesel world mag has a huge article on turbo life.... and talks about waiting for the turbo to drop below 400* before shutting off..... I'm gonna start doing that.

hard to tell from the pics - what color is the mount made in?

does it match the dark accent in the tan Lariat interior?

Are you using the EGT monitoring function off of the already present Ford probes? If so..how well does it seem to function?

yes and it is very responsive.

I have one screen setup with the four EGT probes on it and I am trying to figure out which is the highest. Will use that on my main three display screen.

Having frilled a manifold successfully - I think this is my place on this truck.

Guardrail, are you using the Edge dash mount that dfuser posted a link of?

If so, do you have the audiophile radio? And does the Edge monitor block the tweeter mounted in the top corner of the door?

I am interested in getting one of these and was wondering.

Thanks!

Duane

I have the audiophile and used the dash mount part #18303 from Edge. Fits great.
Only complaint on the whole unit is I can't seem to find a way to dim it at night.

From the service manual

Sensor 30 55 MPH
EGRT_A 492 604
EGRT_B 492 201
EGT11 415 482
EGT12 492 201
EGT13 471 491

There are five temperature sensors exhaust related; the above are typical reference values at 30 MPH and 55 MPH from the PC/ED Service Manual; the numbers don't seem totally right to me; no cooling at EGR cooler at 30 MPH, and the last two numbers at 55 MPH. It is from the manual, take it for what it is worth.

EGRT_A also called EGRT is in the right cylinder bank exhaust (Pre Turbo)
EGRT_B also called EGRT2 is between EGR cooler 2 and the EGR valve
The purpose of the above two is to determine the effectiveness of the two
EGR coolers

EGT11, Exhaust Gas Temperature bank 1, sensor 1
is before the OC, Oxidation Catalytic Converter (exhaust from turbo)
EGT12, Exhaust Gas Temperature bank 1, sensor 2
is located between the OC and the DPF
EGT13, Exhaust Gas Temperature bank 1, sensor 3
is located after the DPF

Hopefully the descriptions of the sensors and their locations will help in figuring out the sensors available to you with the Edge Insight.

Bob

I have been bouncing back and forth between EDGE, and 3 different forums on this. Based on a picture posted..showing the EGRT_A sensor located right where you said...seems like there is a place to read pre-turbo temp. So I sent the picture off to EDGE and asked them to confirm. Thanks for your input!

I ordered the EDGE mount - not too worried about the speaker.

My EGT reading is from the one on the Ford list marked - EGT. Based on a second screen I set up with all four on it, this is the hottest.

I would love to find a way to setup the datalogger using the computer software instread of the unit itself.

Other than that its pretty neat. Got some reasonable base line prior to towing new 5th wheel

I posted this pic on another forum because a "tech" argued there was no pre-turbo sensor. I circled the EGRT_A in red. I am anxiously awaiting the answer from Edge. Thanks for being in contact with them.
