EGT and EGR Replacements

I recently bought an 08 6.4L with about 111K on it I absolutly love the truck but was stranded on the side of the road 5 ours from home becaus of an EGT probe. I know that there are a lot of upgrades that can be done to these motors is there one out there that will eliminate all these useless sensors that make a fully functional engine not run. I know about the EGR delete but i'm not sure what all it deletes or if its even what I would need. Can someone please dumb it up for me I have limited mechanical knowledge and point me in the direction I need to optimize my motor and not be left on the side of the road because of a probe of sensor?
Thanks

No replacements for the EGT probe. Failures are rare. EGR has been pretty good on this motor as well.

You run into problems with the EGR when the motor is not worked and you are primary running it in low speed situations.

Just to throw it out there, it may be considered rare, but I also was stranded twice by bad EGT probes. At least it wasnt the same one both times.

Get an H&S and exhuast this will eliminate your problem with EGT. Then get a set of EGR blocker plates. The install of this should take around 4-5hrs at most. Total cost around $1100.00. The H&S turns off the EGR so you dont need to take it out completly the blocker plates are just an added saftey to make sure nothing gets through there. I have 2-6.4's and installed this on both of them once i got them one now has 30K on it and the other now has 220K and zero problems.
