I have used the fitch in 2 of my gas cars and have seen pretty decent gains. My Mercedes with a 2.3 liter gas engine showed a 3mpg gain on the highway with noticeable improvement in performance the same for my 4.0 liter explorer. My neighbor swears that his Pontiac went from 22 mpg highway to 28 with the fitch. Each of the gas cars took a while (about 700 miles) to see any changes. Last month I bought an E350 with a 6.9l diesel so I will put a fitch in it and see how the diesels go. Everyone here in my town that has put one in their car has been impressed. So I can't wait to see one in my 6.9.

I'll sell ya mine, never been used.

You guys are gullible to buy that. Seeing as hydrocarbons aren't polar molecules, there isn't much a metal catalyst or magnetic-style treatment will do to affect them. The advertisement talks about "cracking" hydrocarbons which can be done, but only in a refinery and requires a lot more ingredients than a mysterious metal in a filter case.
It's a total scam. Sorry for those who got suckered - but you're still foolish for believing parlor tricks.

Reason: rules violation
Fordfascist, You might want to keep your being scammed remarks to yourself. Many people have purchased Fitch products and are happy with them. If seeing 3 to 5 mpg improvement in fuel economy with Fitch is a parlor trick...then sign me up for the next performance.

Yeah? I haven't counted ONE in this discussion thread. Everyone that's put one on his Ford truck has said he regrets his purchase. Sounds reasonable to me that FordFascist would explain why it wouldn't work.
If it made a difference at all on my truck..... it is such a small amount that I can't tell! $400 I will never get back!
This is the problem with most fuel economy "improvers", They take forever to pay off, and in most cases don't provide the gains claimed in their advertisements.
Fuel economy is a head game as much as anything else. There is only so much you can do to a truck like this, and often the cost just doesn't return the gain. You can do as muck or more by altering your driving habits and taking care of the maintenance of your truck. Keep the tires aired, the brakes in good repair, a cap on the back, the tailgate up, the rpms at 2k, the truck moving, don't idle, don't punch it through intersections, don't drive stupid speeds, don't drive in stop & go.
Most aftermarket stuff is to get you to use more fuel not less. If the additives & treatments that are out there really worked, they'd be in use by the manufactures in order to boost sales.
Sorry guys, Fitch goes into my snake oil catagory, and not worth the money.

You've said everything I've contended from day one. If Ford thought it would help improve efficiency, they would've put it on the truck to begin with. It is after all, all about money. If they can make more money off you, they would've designed it in.
If we got suckered, we don't need it rubbed in our face.
FordFascist looks like a lurker with his 5 post's.
I'm not a lurker, just with the forum rules there isn't much I can discuss on here (ie emissions alteration). Considering this is my tow-rig, I have different uses for it than perhaps you do. I'm on other forums that have fewer rules and far substantive technical discussion in relation to my interests than here. But to each his own. This site still contains much specific PSD knowledge and I've enjoyed reading it rather than trying to pad my post count.
If you took a chemistry class you would understand how hydrocarbon cracking works on a basic level and thus; would not fall for voodoo science that someone cleverly marketed to you. At bare minimum it would be at least understandable that people would be cracking their own gasoline and distillates (diesel) from heavier hydrocarbons at home if it were as easy as Fitch makes it appear.
