Re: High Idle Switch?????

I'm not sure the exact procedure but it can be done they hooked mine up to the #4 upfitter switch. It works quite well. You need to be in park with E brake on and turn on the #4 switch, it holds your idle at 12-1300 RPM. Works great when it is -30 out, it keeps your temps up and the cab warm.

So you would only need this mod in cold weather. Where I live in the middle of winter it only gets anywhere from 5 degrees celcius to -15 degrees celcius (that is 41 degree Fahrenheit to 5 degree Fahrenheit)

Re: High Idle Switch?????

having a high idle is good for multiple reasons..... its nice to have for jump starting people, charging batteries on my trailer, or if you are going to be idleing for a while..... it keeps the motor from diesel pooling. Plus you have 4 upfitter switches anyways...... why not use one for a free option that your truck has built into it?!?!

Re: High Idle Switch?????

Yes it can be done to the 08 trucks. Another pro to using the high idle is that the alternator will produce more current at higher rpms rather than at idle.
