I just wanted to post this info for those that are debating this unit as I have been for the last few months. I have a 2008 with just over 40K miles on it since I purchased it new back in January of this year. I love the truck but always felt like the truck had more power than what was being delivered. I am not one to race my truck or overload it while towing but just wanted a noticeable overall improvement in driveability. My mileage has increased to a consistent 16-16.5 MPG on the freeway since I purchased it and I can live with that so mileage was not something I was looking to gain much improvement with but any little bit would be nice.
I purchased the Juice last Friday and it was delivered yesterday. I am not a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination but I was able to install the system by myself in about an hour last night. The instructions are straight forward and you don't need any special tools. The hardest part of the install for me was getting the plug off of the Variable Geometry Sensor on the turbo. There are 2 small diameter tubes that prevent you from getting your whole hand in there to loosen the fastener on the plug. Aside from that, I had the underhood connections completed in about 20 minutes and spent the rest of the time running the cable into the cab and into the Attitude display. I did not even use the adhesive tabs that mount the display pod to the dash. The unit fits nice and tight into the A-pillar so I did not want to put the tabs on the dash. The fit and finish is perfect and looks like it came on the truck.
After installing, I cranked the truck and took it down the road for a few miles. The unit has several safety features programmed into it and one of them is that the unit does not start working until the engine coolant temp reaches 170 degrees. I have run it so far for about 80 miles on level 2 (of 5 levels) and have had no Check Engine Lights and the truck is more responsive. It appears that the turbo lag has been decreased somewhat and the downshifting when accelerating on the freeway has decreased. I am going to run it on level 2 for a few days and then step up to level 3 & 4. The Attitude comes set up to display EGTs, boost pressure, transmission fluid temp, and engine coolant temp although you can change it to display a host of parameters. It is nice to be able to monitor engine temps, etc. This is the only mod that has been done to the truck (stock intake & exhaust) and I do not plan to make any other changes (other than 305/65/18 BFG A/Ts next week). So far, I am very pleased and would recommend this to anyone looking for safe, gradual increases in power. The highest level adds 75 HP and 150 ft-lbs of torque so if you are looking to gain big power this alone may not be what you are looking for. I will keep you posted on my impressions but just wanted to pass this info along to everyone. I know there was a post a while back by someone who ordered the unit and could not tell a difference over stock. That person definitely got a defective unit or did not have it hooked up properly because you can tell a difference.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a Happy New Year!

Brad777,
I'll keep everyone posted as I put more miles on the truck with the Juice installed.

Reason: rules violation
I've downloaded and read the online user's guide for this product -- got it from the company's web site within the past couple of days. It says it monitors EGTs (as you have), but I couldn't figure out if a temperature probe needs to be installed in the exhaust system somewhere to do this. Did you have to do that?

Mike,
You do not have to install any probes. From what I understand, the new trucks have 3 banks of sensors in the exhaust system that monitor EGTs. There has been some debate as to how accurate the temps are compared to what the EGTs would be if a separate probe were installed in the manifold.
I have now logged about 600 miles since installing the Edge and I can say that the truck is a whole lot more fun to drive and the fuel economy has gotten better. I just got back from a trip from Columbia to Charleston and back. On the way down yesterday I set the Edge to level 3 (the Drive mode) and according to the dash message center I got an average of 18.0 MPG running with the cruise set on 73 and that was about a 110 mile trip on the freeway. Previously I was getting about 15.5 MPG on this same trip each week I did have one regen which lasted about 10 minutes (prior to the regen I was getting 19.5 MPG) and the EGTs shot up to between 1050 and 1180 during this time. Normally they run around 630-690 at 70 MPH on flat highway. I would like to see if anyone has installed a separate EGT probe in the manifold and what temps they are seeing compared to what the Edge is reading.
Coming home today I put it in level 2 (Tow mode) and averaged 17.8 with no regens. I am thoroughly pleased with the Edge and once I get my 305/65/18 BFG ATs on later this week I am sure some of that mileage increase will go away due to larger, heavier tires. But hey, the truck will look great and just think what my mileage would have done if I had not installed the Edge.

Thanks for that info! When you get your larger tires, doesn't the Edge have the ability to recalibrate for them? Do you know if it recalibrates ITSELF for the new tires size or if it reprograms the truck's PCM for the new tire size as well? For example, I'm wondering if the truck's speedo will be recalibrated for the new tires size so it shifts properly, etc.

I believe it just calculates the correct speed within the Edge itself. I know that it does not reprogram the PCM as that is what I liked about the Edge Juice is the fact that it does not alter the truck's PCM. It only intercepts the signals sent out by the PCM and changes them. Speedometer recalibration is not a big deal for me as I have a Garmin Nuvi GPS installed right above my Edge monitor and I use that for monitoring speed anyway.

betcha fity cents ur edge is messing up that nice readout you are looking at. The only way to know what mileage ur are really getting is hand calculating every tank for a long while. I can reset mine and get 20+ going downhill for a minute or so.

I can't say whether I agree with that or not at this point but I did get about 50 miles more out of my last fill up than I normally get when I fuel up with around 20 gallons of fuel and that was driving the same route that I drive every week. I will try to keep some written records for a week or so but I am tending to believe that the Edge is not skewing the readout on the dash message center. If this unit actually went in and replaced or wrote over the stock programming then I might buy into that. I'll pay closer attention to my fuel purchases and mileage between fill ups to confirm that. I know one thing for sure, the truck does not downshift as much and the turbo lag is much better and those 2 items alone make the truck that much more pleasurable to drive.

I've had my Edge for about six months now and it works great. The pod matches my dash perfectly. I ran to Vegas and back at 70 and averaged 18mpg by checking the gauge and fuel consumption. I usually only towmy towhauler and I average around 10mpg with the truck fully loaded and 12500 lbs in thetrailer at 60. Better than without it at 7-8mpg!
Any further updates or comments on the Edge/Juice? This looks like it may be the product for me, and don't see much owner info anywhere on it.
I was looking for a little extra power/mileage without taking off the dpf. I realize that the power/mileage increases isn't nearly as big as some of the programmer/dpf delete systems, but I am not after that.
The claims of 1 or 2 mph increase with 50 hp and 100 flbs torque seems like it would make truck a little more fun without big stress on everything, and not touching the dpf is a bonus.( for warrenty and such)
