You will get turbo burp sounding like a "swoooshhh" when letting off throttle. This is normal.

No it made it a lot louder and a real deep dorney sound! way more then i thought it would have even much more then i have heard on my other trucks i have had.

The turbo wisle and burp i like and would take for sure! But s&b on the olny i can hear the turbo it when on it real hard other then that is it sounds more like a gas v8 not a diesel.

I just recieved my K&N cold air intake and love it. You can definitely hear the intake more and the turbos. they claim 16.4 more horsepower and something like 20+ on the torque. The best part was that I didn't have to pay a dime for it.

You'd have to pay me $5k to put a K&N on my diesel truck.

Banks and S&B will sound similar as they are both closed box designs.

THE s&b is not completly enclosed i found that out the hard way i went and bought one as i was told that it is then opened it up and no it was not and the place i got it does not do returns! if they did i would have taken it back and got the banks from a frend for $308 new but oh well i think they are the best 2 out there i think the s&b is a better looking unit when instaled theo.

I've had my Banks intake on now for three days and no codes thrown yet (fingers crossed). The install was "fall off a log" easy. As for the sound of air sucking into my motor, you can barely tell a difference above stock, which is a slight dissappointment bc i like that sound! But if they have to keep it that way bc of throwing codes then i'm happy with it. The quality of the intake was pretty good too. The inside housing has a very slick finish, I'm guessing to help the air flow smoother. As far as mileage goes... that's another story. I can't keep my foot off the pedal long enough to see any increases yet, but i'm sure it's gotta make it better than that stock turd looking thing that I pulled out from under the hood!

Did you get the regular intake setup, or did you end up with the ram-air thing they have on the website? Looks like a good system. Did you throw a code yet?
