Did you get the regular intake setup, or did you end up with the ram-air thing they have on the website? Looks like a good system. Did you throw a code yet?
No it just hooks up to the stock air intake tube right above your fenderwell and then hooks to the intake tube going into the motor. All it basically does is replace your stock filter box with a cooler looking one and a better filter. I've noticed a lil more sound out of it now that the truck is getting more "broke in" but nothing loud or obnoxious. I only have like 1500 miles on the truck now. I havn't thrown any codes yet and I've been through like three tanks of diesel now with the Banks on it. So far so good!
Will these intakes void the warranty? I currently have an Air Aid (filter only) installed to replace the stock filter, but would like a whole new intake if it didn't screw the warranty.
I was just reading through this thread. I have an afe in my truck. I had a few lights here and there. I took my truck in for the latest flash two weeks ago and now I have 1500 miles on it and no light. The service tech guy told me that all the CEL light issues should go away with this new flash. He was correct. A buddy of mine has had the same results. He told me to get the flash because he had his done a week or two before me.

I'm asssuming your talking about our "Super Scoop" assembly. We don't have one for the 6.4L mostly because there was no place to put it. The CEL's that some people are complaing about are stemming for the location of the MAF sensor. If the MAF reading if off, even a little bit, the CEL will come on. Most trucks that get this issue will "re-learn" the new input and the CEL goes out, others don't.

I have an S@B intake that was throwing a CEL p2002 after a regen. Since I have had the latest flash from Ford about 4K km ago I have had 3 regens and no CEL issue anymore. I do have the intake in winter mode where warm air comes from the crankcase, so I am uncertain if this makes a difference with the MAF sensor?

It does though I'd be lying if I told you I knew what it was. The MAF informs the computer just how much air is entering the engine in the first place. Based, in part, on that information the trucks computer adjusts the rest of the emmission system to compensate. Obviously the whole "trial and error" method will get you nowhere so an exact cause has to be located. With this type of truck it can be extremly hard to even get the CEL to repeat let alone figure out what, exactly, caused it in the first place.
I'm new to this forum, but I'm trying to decide on the best air intake or at least one that seems to have the best balance of reliability and performance. I've read about the AFE and the S&B and the pros and cons with each. I was reading diesel power and saw an add for Injen. I have used injen for other applications and they are great but has anyone tried this intake system or know how it stacks up to all the others out there. Also, do we have a consensus on what everybody seems to have the best success with now, from reading past threads it seems that S&B is a favorite. Thoughts?
Boo, I found this thread looking for the same information...Was hoping to find some input here as you did. I plunked down $325 for the polished Injen system with the Amsoil filter. Kept hearing good things about S&B and aFe, but think the Amsoil dry is the way to go. Maybe I'm wrong, can tell you after I get it and install it! I do like the fact that it's aluminum and not plastic as some are.
Good luck with the search, I'll report back later!
Tim

To get back on the origional question of the Injen/ Amsoil CAI, Id like to try one out. I Had good luck on my 06. It was an oil less filter, and also had a pre filter. It sounded pretty cool on the 6.0, deffinatlly could hear the whistle of the turbo. Ive been trying to get information on the 6.4 now. The cost is alot less on the 6.4 is 300.00 cheaper then what I payed for my 6.0. It also adds a little bling to the inside of the engine compartment I also seen that H&S has a CAI now. It was in their last newsletter
