Basically the IQ is a handheld touch-screen computer that is designed to interface with the vehicle. Think of it as an iPhone for your car or truck. The unit plugs into the data link connector under the dash, and is able to read the information being passed over the vehicle’s controller-area network (CAN) bus. The IQ has access to all of the information the vehicle’s computer does, and through various screens (that Banks calls environments) the driver can interpret the data with a number of different digital gauge configurations. And keep in mind, this isn’t just for Volkswagens. When the Banks IQ goes into production it will work with any ’96-and-newer vehicles.
There are other products on the market that offer similar features, but the Banks IQ promises to take this technology far beyond just giving data readouts. Banks’ intent is to give the customer an interface that will allow them to also control their aftermarket hardware through the IQ display. We’ve already seen it run the Banks Six-Gun tuner and new Banks SpeedBrake, but in the future the IQ architecture will also be able to control things like nitrous, water injection, and propane—basically anything that can be computer controlled.
In addition to the vehicle performance menues, the IQ will also feature a full suite of media capabilities. It will allow you to view photos, movies, and listen to music. The unit also has built-in GPS capability, is Bluetooth enabled, and did we mention that it also runs Windows CE?
After seeing the Banks IQ, we were left wondering—is there anything this product won’t be able to do?

We have ALL of the other displays out there and there is absolutly no comparison at all. We're going to post up specifics on our web site shortly including what they all look like when mounted on the dash and how they compare to each other. As for price I wont know until they come out

Especially since I'm waiting for you to come out with Economind for the 6.4.
But, if you need a Southern California tester . . .
You might as well return the insight anyway as it WON'T work with our tuner. Actually it's our tuner that won't work with the insight. Our tuner will interpret the insight as a scan tool and shut off so it doesn't interfer with it. Besides, when you see the differences between them you won't want it anymore any way
Please tell me that you are going to have more mounting options that a suction cup. Nothing looks more ugly than a suction cup and a wire snaking across the dash.

I have my GPS mounted under the the ash try I think I might use that area.

Looks small enough that it might fit on the EdgePod similar to what others have done with the DashDaq.
It will NOT fit in the edge pod as our display is much larger (5 inches of vieable area vs. 4.3 inches) than either the dash daq or the edge insight or cts. Our display is also much thinner then all the others even though the gps reciver antenna is built in. Besides the pod would cover up the 12 and 5 pin USB connectors limiting the featurs of the display (like the MP3 player).

Just get the Garmon GPS software (for windows CE) and use the Banks I.Q. for both

That was mounted in a TDI so the mounting options were limited. The initial release will have a new type of suction cup mount.
