The Banks iQ is a true in-car PC packed full of functions and applications for use inside and outside of your vehicle. No other device on the market can match what we've put int the iQ. This stand alone device works on a variety of '96 and up vehicles opening the inner workings of your vehicle's ECU letting you see what's beyond your dashboard gauges. You select what you want to see and how you want to see it. Set alarms, adjust gauge colors, read and clear codes, log data, and find out how quick your vehicle really is. You'll find yourself using the host of useful built in tools in your daily life. You'll listen to your favorite tunes, watch videos, play games, review your Windows Office documents and more. It's PC power that fits in the palm of your hand, and with a rechargeable battery you can take it with you whenever you go. Compared to Banks iQ, other vehicle interfaces on the market are one-dimensioned toys with an umbilical cord to your dashboard.

And that's only the beginning... for more information, go to www.bankspower.com/banksiq

Shown in actual size: The Banks iQ features a full 5" color touch screen giving you 41% more viewing area then the competitors 4.3" screen.

Revolutionary & Evolutionary.
The best news? Banks iQ is fully expandable and upgradeable. Things like our growing stable of optional micro-computer controlled ad-on performance and safety peripherals like: nitrous control, a tune on-board dyno system, water/methanol injection, boost control, air density meter, air/fuel ratio meter, propane injection, TransCommand and more will pave the way for options beyond your dreams. You'll always be able to run the latest software and download a host of new programs as they become available too!

Put it all together and there's only one smart choice to make. Banks iQ.

Total Control
A lot of companies sell monitoring systems for diesel trucks. These one-dimensional, dashboard-riding "toys" pretend to offer the driver an expanded view into the workings of his vehicle. But a closer look reveals that most of them are lacking in the intelligence and control you think you've paid for.

Information is power, but that's just one piece of the puzzle. Sure, a monitoring device should give you a window into all of your truck's vital systems. But observations is only useful if it leads to action, Our new Banks iQ doesn't just pick up where the other guys leave off... it changes the game from top to bottom by allowing the driver to capture real-time, dynamic data and use it to exercise full control.

Control Freak. Banks iQ puts you where you want to be - in total command of your truck. The other guys offer static tune-up, information-only type devices. With Banks iQ, you can interface with and control our tuning and braking products on the fly. So whatever the terrain, altitude or load, both up-hill and down-hill, Banks iQ puts you completely in control.

Size Matters. Don't let them fool you on this one, Banks iQ offers a full 5" display with screen area that dwarfs any competitor. And why shouldn't we go big when we're offering triple the features of any other brand as well as an infinite increase in control?

The World's first Dashboard PC. With Banks iQ's broad array of programs, expandability, rock-solid Windows CE foundation, market exclusive USB On-The-Go and both micro SD card and USB thumb drive read-write memory storage the Banks iQ is truly something the automotive world has never seen before.

Don't throw your money away on dashboard jewelry. Go with a system worthy of your truck - the Banks iQ.

So can someone 'sell' me on this product and what it would do for someone who currently, has a stock truck and would it be worth the money compared to some other product just for monitoring?

right off the bat I can see live guages as a step in the right direction! Don't know if you need anything else to plug into it for it to work.

How about Banks?

If you are only looking for something to do monitoring, then this thing does that. But it also does a lot more. You can choose what you want to monitor, change the night time color to match your other gauges (I like this!), set alerts (EGT, Eng Temp, Trans, etc), view and clear vehicle codes, Performance testing.

Like a monitoring setup.

But it also has all of these other features as well. You can view corrected speed on your truck if you got bigger tires or changed your gearing, this is done through the built-in GPS so you know it is accurate. Productivity (Windows CE desktop, WordPad, all kinds of file viewers, calculator), Entertainment (Pics, Music, Vids, eBook, Games) and the whole thing is upgradeable. Every time they make an improvement, or add features, you can download the update and get the new version. Plus it is a mini computer. So you can download apps made for WinCE and run them on here. For me, I want a lot of games, music and vids. That way when I go somewhere, I can take the iQ out and not sit around bored out of my mind!

With this iQ, I can leave the iPod at home! But that is me, you will obviously have different reasoning for getting one. But I am definitely getting one of these.

Another nice thing I see about this over the Palm is that it gives you a great place to install a tracking program to track fuelups, oil changes, maintenance, etc.. all in the same place.

Can I plug my broadband card into it so I can find the nearest tire shop when the trailer blows another one?

If you install the GPS software, then you don't need a broadband card. However, I can see a benefit to that. Don't recall reading that it had a PCMCIA slot, but it does have USB. So you could plug (tether) your cell phone into it.

Looks like a dashdaq knockoff. I am with blizzard on this one.

Knockoff? Well since you seem to want to compare them, here's how they stack up on size alone. This is a ,to scale, comparison between the Banks iQ and the dashdaq:

Our screen is larger, with much less wasted space allowing the viewed information to be larger and much eaiser to read. Colors can be changed to both day and night settings as you need to.

Here's a shot of just a few of the screens available:

As for features, our system is also compatible with the Banks nitrous and water meth controllers (both slated for release sometime early next year) as well as the new Speed Brake. Obviously the dasdaq can't do any of this. Data logging will also be available in a future software update. Our display also includes a built in battery allowing you to use and setup the display when it's OUT of the truck. This also allows you to use the gps and PC features away from the vehicle rather then getting stuck tied to it.

The dashdaq also requires that you purchase "enhanced" features (for another $95), we don't. The universal will have all the available PID's included free of charge and the base unit will be less expensive then the dashdaq.

In fact here's a short list of what's included just in the box:

------------------Banks iQ ------- DashDaq
Charge cable ------Free -------------$20
Expansion cable ---Free -------------$30
Enhanced PID's ----Free -------------$95

and further ANY windows CE program will work with this display. A dashsaq knock off? Not even close

More pictures!!

Here's a few more shots of some of the various screens.

Here's where you set the on screen alerts:

Here's where you alter the gauge layouts:

Here's where you change the syle of the gauge layout:

Here's where you can change the gauge colors. This one is pretty cool. You can setup the color (over a very wide spectrum) for both day and night modes:

The next group ships out on friday!
