Is the jury still out?

Looking at adding a tuner, but I'm hearing all sorts of mixed emotions on here. I'd like a good chip that provides the best of both worlds in terms of econ and pwr. At the same time, I don't want to void the warranty. I know there are going to be responses all over the map.

So what's the word, my best choice in tuner and the probability of voiding my warranty when using one?

Pretty simple on the warranty question really. If you use a tuner and have no problems needing dealer service then your warranty stays in tact. Conversely if you take it to the dealer for service then the powertrain warranty is history.
