2008 F350 6.4 I am curious about adding a chip for better mileage and performance are they worth it, will they take away from the life of the engine?, also which is the best? I use it to pull a 36' fifth wheel camper.
H&S mini max. assuming you do not have to pass yearly emissions test I would highly suggest deleting the EGR and installing larger exhaust. The biggest killer for your engine is the regen system and bad fuel. Only get fuel at reputable places that do a fair amount of business such as a a name brand truck stop.
I've been looking to the same with my 08 also .. every thing I see and I get told is the same with the egr dpf delete ..only everyone else told me to use the gearbox Z programmer...

Deleting the DPF and EGR coolers and running an appropriate tune will prolong the life of the engine. If you choose to go the route of crazy high HP racing tunes without doing many more mods on the engine (like ARP head Studs & other 'bullet proof' methods) then I think you are asking for trouble.
The "Best" is going to be subjective from each member. I can only speak of experience from what I use (in my sig below). For what you posted to be your primary concern (better mileage and performance), that little cute device will serve you very well.
