By-pass oil filter

I am considering adding a by-pass filter for the engine and was wondering which one would be best for the 6.4 application? I found a-lot of info on the oilguard filter and seen an ad about the Amsoil system. They both seem to claim that they are the best. Does anyone have an real knowledge about these systems, or are there others that may be better? Thanks.

Re: By-pass oil filter

Any idea as to how the Amsoil filter compares to the oilguard or any others that may be available?

Re: By-pass oil filter

Go to Amsoil.com and look at the information online. They
will show you all the different kits and typical installation
for your truck. One peice of advice. If you are going to
run an Amsoil bypass filter, run the oil, EaO-88 oil filter
along with the Bypass filter. That way you will be getting
your money's worth. Running the bypass with conventional oil
will not gain you anything. I got over 100,000 miles on my
7.3 running Amsoil. You will need to use the new 5W-40 Amsoil
Diesel oil for your new truck.

Re: By-pass oil filter

already called both manufactures (read first post) They both claim to have the better product. I was wondering if anyone had experiance in the real world with the each product and there thoughts, Not just what a salesperson that is obviousley going to push there product has to say. Dosen't matter if both kits were $5, I would still prefer to have the better of the two.

Re: By-pass oil filter

I prefer the FS2500. My 4X4 has 690,000 miles, the FS2500 was installed at 4,000 miles. The 4X2 has 214,000 miles, the previous Cummins ISC had 300,000 when I sold it. The total miles 1,200,000 FS2500 equipped without any problems or concerns. The PSD trannys have FS2500 filtration.
