SCT questions

Ok... I have a couple SCT questions.

Does the EGT probe on the 9623 make the unit act any different? Or does it just give the EGT temp on the screen for the user? Does it have any strategy written into it that the EGT temps change what it does?

How much does it cost to add the Extreme tune to the 9621 tuner?

No, you don't need to install the EGT probe.

You can read the factory EGT's right out of the box. You can also set alarms based on EGT.

The programming will detune if the EGT's are higher than expected.

Please contact us and we can give you specific pricing on the units and apply our current discounts.

Ok.... so I called SCT and was able to get alot of my own answers.

The EGT probe is strictly for the user's gauge... it has no control at all over the equipment or programs.

Here's the big kicker for me.... it doesn't reprogram your guages for tire size change..... don't think I'm gonna buy one now because of that issue... the SCT guy said that they are working on adding it as a firmware upgrade though.

That's correct, none of the SCT devices reprogram the ABS control for gauges. There as an option to change tire size, it changes your shift mph to be correct.

doesn't it seem weird to you that the other tuners are offering this and SCT isn't? I'm gonna have to stick with my Hypertech for now till they get that featured added.
