Upfitter Switches and high idle

I have the upfitter switch package and am wondering if I can use those to make a high idle switch? Has any body done it before? How hard is it? Will it void my warranty?

Thanks

Question. Why do we **need** high idle? And what's the difference between High Idle and Power Take Off??? I hear these things discussed a lot when it comes to diesels, and just need some enlightenment.

at high idle your ac will be cooler in the summer and heater warmer in the winter, but more importaint it will stop wet sacking.

I'm still a little bit confused at how this works. From what I read their is a wire underneath the dash that controls the high idle. What I am wondering is how do I connect it to the upfitter switch? Do I need to buy anything extra to do this?

Underneath the dash on the left side of the steering column is where the wires for the upfitter switches are. Your owners manual describes what color wires are for what switch and how many amp's it is (it may describe the location of the wires as well, I can't remember if it does). There is also another bundle of wires in the same location that has the wires for the BCP (Battery Charge Protect), PTO and some other wires. Hook one of the wires from your switches to the BCP, I can't remember what color it is, but this topic has been discussed many times, so if you do a search on the forum you'll find what your looking for.

In the fall last year, I found and used a post that showed exactly what wires to use. I do remember all I had to do was use a jumper wire from a bundle under the dash to the bundle next to it for the Upfitter switch. I put my high idle on #2. Do a search around last September or October.
