6.4L Upgrades and Aftermarket - EngineUpgrading and adding aftermarket equipment to your 2008 Super Duty truck with 6.4L Power Stroke diesel engine. Please confine discussion of topics in this forum to those items that are specific to the 6.4L Power Stroke engine.
Was thinking about getting the new truck but reading alot about the engines getting 2 to 5 quarts of diesel fuel in the motors bottom end is it because of sulphur content or bad rings seating. I drove a new dually getting great fuel milege off the lieometer and thought that the new trucks were horrible on fuel but a guess it just depends on which one you get. I never heard of 6.0s getting fuel in the motors.

Great article. Thanks for posting. My question is, with a DPF delete, does the fuel dilution problem go away? Well, nearly go away? Sounds like another argument for DPF delete!

Yes! With the DPF delete the fuel in oil goes away. I went from 2% fuel in oil to a trace amount. I would also like to add that a bad injector or bad HPFP can also add fuel to the oil
Yes mileage went up! From a with DPF average of 16 to a No D P F average of 20. I can get it to do 23 mpg sometimes and have even seen 25 mpg on the dash. My mpg reading is .3 of a mpg off from my hand calculated mpg.
