I just want to chime in here and say THANKS. I don't think this could get much easier.

Re: Howto: 05-06 High Idle (AIC/SEIC/BCP)

I am not a big safety first guy but It should probably be added that the battery cables should be removed prior to doing this as I just got through with this install and there is a large 8-10 gauge positivly charged cable and lug just protruding to he outside edge of the fuse box. When you unscrew the 4 10mm head bolts and the fuse box is pulled out it can easily touch and ground itself on the metal areas of the dash. I know this because it happened to me and I started to unintentionally arc weld. Now I was listening to the radio and had the key on during this so maybe just the key off would do it but it was a pretty big spark. Great post though. It worked out great!

Re: Howto: 05-06 High Idle (AIC/SEIC/BCP)

Thanks for this post - one of the better, complete and more important ones for me.

I installed a an LED switch and used the BCP wire - works great!

Bear Hunter-
What is "cold weather strategy"? I live in North Idaho, it gets cold here. I was thinking I was going to install this in the morning, but I want my truck to warm up right.
Thanks-

The cold weather strategy automatically bumps your rpms up to like 900. The high idle Mod does not affect this factory feature.

Can this be done on a 6-speed? It's a 06.

Re: Howto: 05-06 High Idle (AIC/SEIC/BCP)

I have a 2007 6.0 without the upfitter switchs. I would like to add the high idle but I am a little confused. I have a 2004 that I have modified by putting a switch between the white/Lt blue wire located near the OBD II connector (12 volt with ING on) and the Lt blue/yellow wire near the e-brake. No Lt blue/yellow wire on the 2007. I connected 12 volts to the solid orange wire, like the article said, on the 2007 - idle did not increase. HELP

GOT IT Missed the part about the e-brake being set. Did not have to do this on the 2004.

Yes...I finally got around to doing mine today. I used BCP method..uses the purple with green tracer wire, it's wrapped to the harness directly above the e-brake.
