I took my hitch out the other day to use it in another truck and noticed a reducer sleeve in the receiver. Thought it was interesting but did not give it another thought until I wanted to go riding yesterday and went to hitch my trailer and my shank was too small and the sleeve was gone. Apparently, it was supposed to have a pin in it and there was not one. I have had my hitch in it since I bought it new and never noticed. Called my dealer and for $35.00 I ordered another one. So, bottom line, check this sleeve to ensure it has a pin in it or you will be buying the same part I just ordered.

They come with the pin. I am betting you used the pin with your hitch. When I went to put my shank in, the pin I used on the old reciever was too short due to the new reciever being 2.5". Had to use the one from the factory.

So the hitch on my SRW F350 is rated Class 5 but only has a 2" reciever?
Only DRW has a 2 1/2"?
According to Ford, your 2" hitch is rated for 12.5K. The 2.5" hitch is rated for 15k. The 2" hitch comes on all SRW (250/350) and the DRW w/5.4 engine. 2.5" comes on DRW with the V10 and 6.4.
Class IV hitches are rated for up to 10K. But depending where you look, the Class rating are all over the place. Some show Class IV up to 12k, some up to 7.5k.
Confuse ya enough?

I had to look around a bit to also find a long enough lock to fit through the 2 1/2" receiver on my F450, since my old lock was too short. Ended up paying $35 for a stainless steel one. It's also a bit of a bugger to line up the holes with the reducer and the hitch bar, since the reducer wants to move around in my receiver.
If that isn't enough, I bought a $250 set of Enkay mudflaps (they are designed to fit around a 2" hitch bar), but found the 2 1/2" receiver, with the reducer in it, was too wobbly for these mudflaps. I just wish Ford had offered a standard 2" receiver on my truck, since I'll never need to use a Class V hitch. (I tow a 5th wheel).

I wish I had yours. I need a 2 1/2 in reciever. I have to buy another hitch and put it on.

I was looking for these parts for my truck last night and didn't think about the pin being longer as well. But etrailer.com sells the spacer part# V75352 for $18.95 and the pin is part# 74149 $6.75. I'll have to order mine soon for some 4 wheeling trips.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you find the locking pin for the 2 1/2" receiver. I have not been able to locate one.

Thanks
I bought mine from a local dealer, but I believe you can also find them on Ebay, and Tweety's RV supply (also on Ebay) also sells them. One brand is Trimax locks, but there are also others.
I just ended up having to buy a 2.5" ball mount and locking pin for my F350. The best deal I found for both was online at a trailer supply. They shipped fast and I was happy with their service and selection.
