Do all SuperDuty's come standard with the TPMS or is it an option. I'm just wondering if my dually has it. My 08 3/4 ton had it. It might just make up my mind wether or not to get 22.5's. I covered the light up with a piece of black tape on my old truck and just cleared the message everytime but I dont want to do that on this one. I guess if it does have them, can you get bands to fit 22.5's for the sensors? Thanks

In case you haven’t read this publication for the past two issues, the federal government has passed legislation that mandates TPMS on every vehicle under 10,000 lbs GVWR starting September 2007. It’s not an option for consumers who purchase new vehicles after that date, nor is it an option for tire dealers and service providers who install or repair passenger and light truck tires. TPMS is the law and if the laws are not followed, the penalties could be severe. Those points alone should be enough to justify the shift in approach, yet there will still be some that refuse to recognize the opportunity and responsibility that TPMS creates.
So it looks like the F450 (due to the weight) will not have TPMS unless it was ordered as an option. Lighter vehicles don't get a choice.
It didn't come with mine. We're adding a hopkins unit as soon as I can figure out how to get the sensors on the inner dual tires.

DRW don't get them and the Ford system is rather mindless anyway.
I use the Doran RV360 and have sensor on all 10 tires - 4 on the 5th wheel and six on the truck.
Inner tires are tubed out in SS braided hoses to brackets in the hub covers. The Centramatics provides a nice protection to keep road debris away from the hoses.
Doran allows programmable alarm level settings and normal pressures, all analog readout and when not towing you can "disconnect" the trailer sensors.

DRW in F450's don't get them or DRW period don't get them? I am thinking of just letting the air out of my tires and finded out.
You do that. Take pictures. Share them with us. David

BTW: 2010 Super Duty Brochure still notes that TPMS is only on SRWs (listed under pickup standard features) and excludes the spare.

So I let the air out of one of the rear tires to 20 psi and no light or warning so I'm guessing I do not have TPMS.
While it's not clear in the owner's guide on when the TPMS begins to first read tire pressures, did you drive the truck for a few minutes in the low pressure state? The trouble shooting section in the owner's guide for TPMS leads me to believe that you have to drive the vehicle awhile before tire pressures are read. It's that way on our corvette - you've got to drive it at least three minutes before it will read the tire pressures.

Correct, the sensors are not activated until the the tire is rotated. The sensors are dormant to save battery until the tire rotation wakes them up. Sometimes it can take a few miles to actually report to the computer the current pressure.

Rear tires are supposed to have 60 psi and I let one out to 20 psi. I drove probably 10 miles and truck was running for about 30 minutes and it never came on. My message center does have a place for tire calibration but I'm guessing everything does.
