2010 - 13,800 mi - would you extend warranty?

We now have a grand total of about 13,800 miles on our 2010 F-350.

I'm wondering with the little amount of miles we put on it a year, would getting a 7-year 36,000 or 48,000 mile extended warranty be a good idea. Or a waste of money. I don't normally buy extended warranties at the get-go, but considering now before the 3-year is up May 31.

I would wait until your close to running out the 5yr / 50k warranty...you can then buy an additional warranty of 4yrs / 48k...which should cover you until 2019 +/- and up to 98k

I purchased an extended after my 5yrs ran out and at 62k miles... now covered until june 2015 and up to 110,800.0 miles...( ESP Premium ) money well spent for peace of mind IMO

Depends what you want the warranty to cover. If you want to get the good diesel care warranty from Ford (21 items covered, 7yrs 200k miles) you have to get that within 3/36 period. After that and up until 5/100 expires you can only get 13 item 7/200 diesel care warranty. If you want the ford premium warranties (bumper to bumper coverage) they must be purchased in 3/36 period. Unless things have changed.

For what it is worth you still have 60K powertrain and 5/100K on the motor so you still have some coverages for a couple years.

question is if it breaks, can you fix it without an extended warr.
