2011 DRW Fender Flares - Diesel Forum

I'm sure almost everyone has seen the photos or video of the 2011. What are your thoughts on the DRW flares?

I think they look bad. Looks like Ford took the cheep way out and did like Dodge did with the mega cab. I guess the Ford designers couldn't design integrated flares in the bed like GMC has done for a few years and the new Ram. The 2011 looks great but they killed it with the cheep flares.
Just my opinion what do you think?

I have to agree they made a nice looking truck and basterdized it with these flares that look like they came off a early 90 dodge.

I agree 90's dodge and UGLY but when I order mine it will be a cab and chassis as I am having a custom hauler bed made.

It would be nice if Ford was reading the post's but with only 2 replies I would say it looks as most don't care or like the new look.

I can't find a photo ANYWHERE! I hope it's not as bad as the front of the 08 and up.

Never mind a found one.
They do look pretty tacky.
Odd thing is yesterday, I saw a DRW Dodge and thought "man they sure messed that truck up".

If this link works there is an ok view of the flares. If you listen to the guy talking he said that it has a 6.8 diesel engine. The 5th wheel prep kit is great.

I have said the same thing for every body change over the years. The more I look at the 2011 the more I like it. Just having a hard time with the flares.

Seems like the whole truck was revamped. Flares look pretty bad. I agree with those that have an 08 thru current model.Looks a lot better.

Flares look like crap. Looks like they welded on a piece of metal culvert pipe. Leave it to Ford to screw a good thing up. Guess will continue to run my 02 PSD until it drops

I dont care for the dually flares, but I do like the new front end. I also really like the front end look on my 2008. Somehow, when parked beside older models, they look old and dated, but its all personal taste and not wanting to bash anyone else's opinions, just my preference.

From the looks, the flares stick out farther over the tires then the 08-09. I think 22.5's will be covered and not sticking out. Can't wait.

They do look quite similar to the DRW Megacab Dodge, like the Resistol limited edition. I like the way those look!

The MegaCab flares looked ok. The Ford flares look like there from the 1940's. They need to look a little more aggressive. As long as there not fiberglass and don't crack as easy as the current design,I'm sure we will learn to like them. I think they did a great job with the rest of the truck. As soon as I can see 1 and if the MPG is 20 or better I will order a new truck. I'm getting 18 MPG from my 07 and it only has 19k miles. I was told it would get a little better after 30k.
