It's different, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it ugly. My question is, if Dodge had the shorty fenders back in the early 90's, why the hell did everyone else have to make gargantuan ones? I thought the Mega Cab fenders looked great. What is the functional purpose of having larger fiberglass fenders to crack and break? Besides, It's even more of a PITA to get access to the sides of the bed with those huge things.

Sorry but I think they are ugly. They are a good idea but they need to be more aggressive. I agree the old fiberglass broke too easy. The newer flares are not fiberglass. But they do make it hard to get to the bed side. Every time I hook the 5th wheel its a long stretch to get to the hitch handle, and I always worry about scratching the paint.

Seems like the whole truck was revamped. Flares look pretty bad. I agree with those that have an 08 thru current model.Looks a lot better.
???????????
the whole truck was not revamped? it has the saem body line as the current truck. the head lights and grill are freshed (if you could call it that) but a not a huge change. the dash is nearly the same too. the cluster upgraded but still a similar look. the seats slightly freshed, and of course the brilliant scientists over at ford, gave us 4 cup holders ofr the front seat of a truck designed to sit two people. 4 equal sized cup holders too. they should have only two or maybe a third at the most but that one would be a different size for smaller cups. then they could have given us a bin of some sorts, but no we get 4 cup holders. the simplest thing, who thought of that? then who approved it?
and yes those fenders are horrible. please keep the buzz going about how ugly they are. the body line of the truck is the same as the current truck, they could easily change it without a whole "revamp" and give us the current fenders (or very similar) on the new truck.

well sir they actually are not larger, in that they do not stick out any further. the fender has to meet dot requirements, so it sticks out the same amount but it is much sharper, and not flowing, or areodynamic. that fender is ugly. and as far as hitting it or cracking it, they are the same width.

I was meaning larger as far as overall surface area of the side of the bed being covered by the fender. Yeah, they are the same width, but smaller in overall dimensions.
