A/C cuts out intermittently

The A/C on my '08 F350 intermittently cuts off and then immediately comes back on (2-3 seconds) - almost as if it is resetting itself.

The truck is a Lariat, so I have the auto temp control.

Twice the A/C cut off and would not come back on until I turned the truck off and back on, but turning it off and immediately back on reset it. The rest of the times (every day or two) it behaves as described above (off, then immediately back on).

I'm assuming it is the whole system, although it could just be the fan...

Anyone else experiencing this or have any ideas on what to check? The dealer says they can't find anything.

Thanks,

Alem

Last summer when it was really hot it would cut out for a second or 2 every now and again like you are describing. But I have never had the AC quit on me. No clue why this would happen.

When you say the A/C "cuts out" do you mean you lose the cold air or you lose all air?

My a/c blows cold and I get a not so cool shot of air sometimes. And sometimes I can hear my blower motor speed up and slow down.. I have auto climate control, but I never use it. All of this happens sitting still and driving down the road. And it doesnt matter if my air is on fresh or recirculate.

I'm wondering if your blend door motor is slow to respond sometimes. Assuming you can hear the A/C compressor kick in and engine fan is working correctly.

Same truck, blower cuts out for 2 to 4 seconds then resumes, mine did it while adjusting either the temp or fan speed on the steering wheel, i dont remember but will pay attn next time, it was like the blower had to stop and "think" a few seconds before it got going again.......
