Crew cab rattle. - Diesel Forum

I've got an 08 crew cab. There is a rattle that I cannot pin point coming from the right rear door area that is loud enough to be heard over the radio at freeway speeds.

I took everything out from behind the seat and it still persists.

Is anyone else experiencing a rattle in this area and have you taken it to the dealer? Did they find it and fix it? I need my truck so dropping it off for a day or two will hurt.

Is it louder over bumps? Maybe a cab mount.

No, not any louder over bumps.

I guess what I am trying to find out is if anyone else has noticed any similar noises in their trucks. My 03 crew cab had a rattle in the same location but I never took it in to be fixed.

On my last three crew cabs, there was a plastic piece of weatherstrip type thing(harder plastic) that was rattling in between the doors up at the top of the doors. Dealer removed it and my rattles went away. Don't know if this is your problem, but my dealer said it was pretty common.
