In Dash Compass Quit. Reads --

My in dash compass on my Lariat has quit working. It just reads --. I tried to recallibrate it like it said in the book. My zone was still correct but it wouldn't recallibrate after I made a bunch of slow circles. Now a custom shop has half of my auto start installed, but didn't get it finished do to a faulty module. And my compass quit working shortly after. I asked the shop about it and they said that they don't know what they would have done to cause this. What do you guys think. Truck goes in on Monday to have it looked at and get latest reflash.

The compass module is suspended from the rearview mirror bracket. It looks like a small plastic box,and just snaps off if you pull down on it. I would check the plug going into the module to see if it has power. Guy installing the auto start may have popped a fuse. Seems awful suspicious that compass died at the same time they were working on the truck.

My thoughts exactly and they were true. Dealership said that it was unplugged. Go figure!
