Dimmer wire color - Diesel Forum

What is the easiest way to get to the dimmer wire and what color is it. I am installing air bags. I want to wire the air pressure gauge to dim with the dash lights.

Instead of splicing into a wire why not just go to the fuse box and with a test light check the fuse for the instrument lights and see if it dims. Then with a fuse tap connect your wire to the fused side.

i am doing the same this weekend. i am down to the gauge install and dont know where i am putting it yet. do you know where you are putting yours yet? i also havent figured out the dimmer wire. sorry i couldnt help.

Under the the ashtray. I used a piece of 5/8 plywood to lower the gauge panel, still hard to read, if you mount it directly to the plastic it's almost impossible.
