Exhaust Solution

I installed a B and W turnover gooseneck hitch in my 2010 F350 dually. Part of the installation is lowering the exhaust brackets to allow room for the hitch. The bracket ahead of the muffler is lowered about 2" while the bracket by the tailpipe is lowered 3" to4". I don't care for the looks of the tailpipe hanging so low. I checked with a Banks tech to see if maybe there exhaust would fit without lowering but he said it would also have to be lowered. Wondering if anybody else has had this problem or knows of a solution.

Take it to a muffler shop with big enough dies and have them bend the pipe after the axle back up to its earlier location.

Easier said than done. None of the regular muffler shops such as Midas have bending equipment that will handle more than 3" tubing. Our exhaust systems are 3.5" tubing. So you have to go to a big-truck exhaust system fixin' place to getter done. Those are usually located out on the interstate a few miles from town, if there is one near you. If you live out in the sticks, you may have to drive a few hundred miles to find one.

the exhaust will rattle when cold if not lowered. The axle hump hits the hitch cross memebers.

Solution is to take height out of the hump - not easy to do
