factory code for keyless entry pad

I have a 2008 Ford F250 6.4L diesel. I need the factory 5-digit entry code for the keyless entry keypad which "is marked on the computer module" according to the owners manual. Where is this computer module? I searched everywhere I can think of and don't want to pay $60 to the dealer to retrieve it on his computer. Thank you.

I just purchased on 08 F350 Crew Cab. Were you able to find the location of the control module for the code? Seems like the 6.4L is different than the earlier ones and the clues for those don't match what I have. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hey Folks: First welcome to the forum.

The module is behind the passengers kick plate. By using the Forum's "Search Function", I found the link below.

Keypad Entry Codes

location of keyless entry code on 08 F250 6.4l diesel

I found it on the back of the SJB or smart junction box. Basically it is the fused panel located on the right front kick. You will have to disconnect about 9 connectors and look at one of the white stickers on the back. It is a five digit code, kind of hidden with other numbers. Let me know if you need more specifics and I'll get my notes, sorry I'm at the office now and don't have them with me.

Another Cool idea -

If you and your S.O. use the vehicle, set up a personal code for each of you. Then set your mirrors, seat and pedals to the position you like. Save it in your #1 or #2 to correspond to your code position and ... Viola! When you use your code to get in your seat, mirrors and pedals are set to your preferences. Love it !

Thanks for that link. I didn't realize that search function was right there. That will definitely come in handy

my 2008 F-250 code

I also found mine behind the kick panel on the passenger side. I had to undo two bolts to move the fuse panel back after taking the kick panel and trim piece out.

Once those two bolts were removed I could move the fuse panel back just enough to see two white stickers with numbers and bar codes.

The sticker in the middle had the code on it. It had some other numbers on it as well, but there was only one 5-digit code and it worked. It was small print, but with a flashlight I was able to make it out okay.

I emailed Ford through their website and they told me I had 3 options

1. Card in the owners manual (my truck was used so that was gone)
2. Sticker behind the computer module
3. Take it to the dealership (they wanted $100)

Glad I found it and saved some cash. Thanks for the help.

Does anyone know where the "computer module" is in a 2008 Lariat F150? What does the computer module look like?

Okay, this might be a REALLY stupid question but I've never had a vehicle with this keypad. Each button has 2 numbers on it. How does it work? If the code is 47295 how do you type it in? Do you hit the right side of the 3.4 button or the center?

Nah, some bean counter thought up this design and saved having to have ten buttons. The "3/4" button is one button that is either 3 or 4, doesn't matter which angle/side/direction it's pushed. Your code is not as unique as it appears: 1 is the same as 2, 3 is the same as 4, 5 is the same as 6 ... etc. You want fries with that?

47295 is the 3/4 key, the 7/8 key, the 1/2 key, the 9/0 key, the 5/6 key = same as code 38106 or a whole bunch of other "numbers".

Nonetheless, the keypad entry is a terrific Ford feature and I'm suprised that other mfgrs don't offer it. I asked for it on my S/O's Lexus and just got the deer-in-the-headlights look back from the sales droid.

Wanna have some fun? See any unlocked Ford with the keypad? Go over and press the 7/8 and the 9/0 buttons at the same time. Presto, it's locked.

- Don
