Flimsy CrewCab roof....question

So, I finally washed and waxed the new truck today. I noticed that the roof over the back doors is pretty flimsy. It is very easy to push it down, but what bothered me, was when it did this on the driver's side the outher roof skin can flex in far enough to touch (I assume) a roof brace underneath the roof. So you can make a metal to metal sound. Didn't do this on the right side, so I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this? I hope Ford didn't forget to put something in there on mine. I would appreciate any input, otherwise I'll be at the dealer pushing on some roofs! LOL!

Mine is no different - a very flimsy roof. Oh - very easy to be the recipient for hail damage too.

Compman,
Thanks for the reply. So does yours also come in contact with a brace/etc. from underneath when you push on it? I thought my old 88 F250 Supercab had a flimsy roof...until now! I know what you mean about hail damage.....luckily it's so thin, they can pop 'em right back out (if only that was true!)
Don't get me wrong, I really love the truck, I was just a little surprised about the sheetmetal.
Jerry

Yes it does push on the braces. When I wax the truck I use the slow speed buffer and the roof is the noisy part to do rattling.

The door skins are pretty soft as well.

My coworker has Dodge Megacab truck and the roof is very flimsy and soft as well.

Thanks for the update. I guess thin metal is just a way of life now. It lowers costs, lowers weight to help fuel mileage, etc.
Thanks again!
