FOG LIGHT OEM installation 2008 f250

Can the OEM fog light system be installed on the 2008 f250 XLT?
I installed a new head light switch new fog light assy.
I made the under thr bumper wire harness and connected it to a unused
16 gage connector by the r/h headlight assy.
I have no power or ground circuit.
The dealer seems to think i need a fog light relay.
does anyone known the relay number in the under hood distribution box?
The owner manual only shows fuse # 21 fog light inside the truck.
Would like to keep the OEM use to operate my new fog lights.
can anyone help
Thanks atc racing

I don't think the relay is there in your truck. You don't really need to buy that relay from the dealership; you can buy a suitable/similar relay from your local auto parts store and wire it up. I think a 30A #87 SPST automotive relay might work (check with Hella even though they don't manufacture your lights).

Tap power and ground directly off of your battery for the lights and the relay. 16 gauge seems a little too small for your lights? I had 14 gauge wire come with my Hella foglights.

heh, yeah just a cheep headlight relay $2-3 MAX

if you want to put it in the junction box you'd prob have to wire up the socket also, it can be a pita
by the way if there was a harness for it it'd be on the drivers side of the veichle atached to the head light between tha radiator and the headlight., if this is what u used the maybe the junction box is pre-wired for it. and if so take the relay # from one of the black relays in there it'll prob be the correct one. just my 2 cents

Hey mike (loft306) thanks for the info and by the way nice truck pic's
I see your truck came equipped with the oem fog lights.
Maybe you can take a look under the front bumper to see how the factory's
installs the fog light wire harness, and it's connection to the head light area.
and let me known whitch side the plug is. Does you truck use all the black relays
I installed fog lights on several trucks and allways used after market wiring kits. I would like to keep the oem factory operation from the headlight pull switch
I see you say the black relay might be the one, there is one open spot in the under hood box in my truck.
Their has to be a way to make it work.
the operation on the new switch works as far as the indication to fog lt's on and goes out with the bright selected on.
Maybe iam looking at the wrong headlight area connection for the power supply.
