Fuel Filters

Can anyone tell me the nut size on the 08 diesel fuel filter caps? I am assuming maybe a metric size? Is the oil filter cap the same size? Thanks

The fuel and oil filter caps are 36mm. If you have a Mini-cooper or BMW dealer around, they will have the correct size. If you can wait a little bit, i suggest EBAY.. The only thing I want to do is have the socket shortened up by a machine shop for clearance on the frame mounted one...

Thanks Scott, I just purchased a 36mm socket at my local pepboys for 7.99 and it worked perfect even on the rail mounted filter. The socket length is 1-7/8" long so it fit just right ! Thanks again...
