Hitch rating

Quick question.
What is the WC rating on the F-450 receiver hitch? We should be taking delivery of a new truck within the next week or 2. Our new boat will be here on AUG 7th. The last work truck that showed up here was an F-350 DRW and the hitch only had a weight carrying capacity of about 8K even though the WD rating was up around 15K. Our new boat is 10,600 fully loaded with the trailer and it uses surge brakes, so we can't use a weight distribution system.
Also, are the holes for the hitch in the same location as the 250/350?
Basically I need to know if I should get a hitch rated for more WC on order so that I can move this boat around as soon as it shows up.
Thanks,
Eric

The stock hitch using a 2.5" shank is rated for 16,000 (weight distributing) and 8,000 (weight carrying).

Thank you, that is what I thought.
Can anyone recommend an after market hitch that has a higher WC rating?
I can't seem to find anything listed for the F-450, just the 250/350.

Reese/Drawtite/Hidden Hitch doesn't show the 2008 F-450 pickup. They show the F-450 chassis cab and the F-350 DRW pickup.

I'm almost certain the TowBeast for an F-350 DRW pickup will bolt right onto an F-450 pickup. The F-450 pickup has less GVWR than the F-450 chassis cab because Ford uses the F-350 DRW frame for the F-450 pickup.
Draw-Tite Tow Beast Class V Receiver 45008

If you take your truck to a Reese hitch dealer, they could test-fit the F-350 DRW TowBeast receiver. DO NOT order the one for an F-450 chassis cab. The frame on a chassis cab is a lot narrower than on a pickup.

If you want to save a buck and order direct without a test fit, then you're gambling that the TowBeast for an F-350 DRW pickup will fit the F-450 pickup.
