Horn won't work

2008 F450 Lariat
Hey guys, I can't find any help anywhere else on the net. I can't even find a Chilton's or Haynes that covers my truck. Here's my issue:

My horn doesn't blow. When I lock the doors with the remote, it will chirp but pressing the steering wheel horn "button" doesn't do anything. I'm a little leary of poking around wires or yanking on the airbag without having some idea of what I'm looking for. I'm not even sure how to get the airbag off to check the horn switch behind it. I'm at my wits' end with this and am slowly coming to the realization that I may end up having to pay Ford to troubleshoot the thing. I bought the truck used about a week ago and have been irritated and frustrated with a couple of things...

1st, it needed tires and a front end alignment... that was a two day ordeal since my local Ford dealer thought they could do the tires... then sent it to a regional place that said they legally couldn't do that size tires. Finally, they found a third place to do the tires... they felt bad so they washed the truck for me which brings me to the next thing...

2nd-- cold water, hot windshield... cracked from bottom to top. They replaced it Friday at their own expense... still irritating though.

3rd-- now with tires and a windshield, I'm ready to get it safety checked and registered... NOW, THE HORN WON'T WORK!!!

Will this never end?

It was the clockspring. So, I've got the part # 8C3T-14A664-BA in hand. Now, to get a replacement. I'm expecting about $80 at the dealer. Anyway, I shot the wires and found that this was the problem. I'd like to thank whoever suggested I go to www.helminc.com because their wiring diagrams and troubleshooting guides got me to this point. For about $10 I downloaded about all the manuals for my truck. Now, if something goes wrong, I'll just have to look through my files till I find the right diagram. Then, I'll know exactly the steps that the dealer would take to fix my truck. Way cool!

Dealer only charged about $56!!!!! Surprise, surprise, surprise!!! I thought for sure they'd want more than the guys on line (anywhere from high 60s to $130). Also, I've taken the old clockspring apart and found a broken solder joint. That's pretty shoddy work there. I wonder if the horn had ever worked. It didn't really look broken, just like it had never been connected. Again, thanks to whoever suggested helminc.com because it was WELL worth the $10!
