I have a "Clunk"

Truck is going in tomorrow (if I can get some time off).

I'd like to know if anyone here has any ideas what i might have.

Intermittent clunk sound coming from what seems to be passenger side and low in the engine compartment area. I have heard it stopped, under acceleration and braking. Sometimes I can feel it in my feet and sometimes I can't. I can't seem to do anything to cause it or I would say, "when I do this it does............" Any ideas.

I though maybe I had something loose on the outside but that doesn't explain why I can get it stopped.

I had a clunk in my 06. Could never figure it out. Mine only happen first thing in the morning, and would happen just after putting it in gear.

Was there till I traded it in for my current truck.

Try the track bar bolts at each end. On my 03 Ex the torque is 450 foot pounds. But I did have a clunk until I replaced the bolt and nut on the passenger side.

I also had to tighten the one on the drivers side to reduce some play in the steering. It was as though the steering box was sloppy.

Try turning the heat off and see if the noise goes away. I have a similar noise and others have posted that the noise is an actuator in the heating air duct system. in my truck the noise does go away when i tunr the heat off. There does not seem to be a known fix for this. Let us know what you find out from the dealer.

I'll try that.

So far the dealer can't find it either.

I picked it up this afternoon and so far I am "Clunk" free. They went through the suspension, checked and retorqued everything. I put about 30 miles on it and so far no clunk. Hope that takes care of it. The work order also shows the TSB for the heater noise shaston noted as supposed to have ended with the 07 model year.
