I used to post at the FTE site but got flamed for my MPG postings so I decided to come over here. I filled up today and, after a full tank, my MPG avg is 20.375 (hand calced) and 19.7 (CPU). This was filled up at the exact same pump station with 3 auto clicks off of the nozzle.
My truck is a 2008 manual tranny 4x4 with 3.73 gears. This tank was 50/50 city and hwy.
For mileage hand calcs, you would want to fill it till you see it in the neck or get first runover. With diesel foaming on fillup, I can get it another 3 to 5 gallons in mine after the first auto cutoff.

Good info, I wondered why it dropped off the full mark so quick after an auto click off.

I don't know why you would be flamed? I have a 2008 w/automatic, and a 2001 with manual. That truck with the manual tranny always out did the mileage of all the buddies. Manual tranny will make you better mileage on any truck, car, suv, anywhere, everytime.

I have been accused of lying about it because so many folks have such poor mileage.
Had mine for about three weeks now. The first few tanks I was getting around 12-13. Took it on a couple of good highway runs and seem to be getting between 15-17 depending on driving conditions. Regen is what seems to be sucking down most of the fuel. My 04' got 13.1 at its best on the highway so I can live with what I am getting out of the 08' right now.

2 tanks since I bought the truck. First one was 9.9mpg, 2nd one 13.0 m[g...both off the computer. Have not hand calc'd yet, but will do so soon. 50/50 city/highway driving. The diesel prices around me are insanely high...4:09-4:19!
I am looking for a Tacoma or Focus daily driver so I can park my 05 F250. Fuel in Dallas hit 3.75-up today. Flying J: Current Diesel Fuel Prices Pricing
I get 13-15 with the factory 20's 4wd auto with mixed driving. I would be looking at a V10 under these conditions.. Such blasphemy!
