MP3 on radio

I was wondering how/if you can download your MP3 player to the
MP3 on the radio? Thanks for the help.

Depends on where your MP3s are. If they're on a device like the Apple iPod or iPhone, then you need software other than iTunes to fetch the music off of the player. Even then, not all of your music will play if it is laced with digital rights management (DRM) then your truck's MP3 CD player won't play that music. Is it on an iPod? Let me know... I'll walk you through it.

Anyway, long story short: what you need to do is "burn" your MP3 files to CD (nothing special there). Then just insert the CD into your truck's CD player and listen to your tunes! :-)

ALso... I know some of the newer trucks have a USB plug. I don't know if yours has that. If it does, then it's much more simple. So... what do you have?

Timid1 thank you for replying! My truck has the USB plug. My MP3 player is not an Ipod just a Sansa. Any and all help is appreciated!

The Sansa should've came with a USB cable. Just for giggles, plug that cable into your Sansa and your truck's USB plug. Then switch your radio over to the USB input (not sure how to do this). Should just work. Your truck won't store the music (because it wasn't meant to); it'll just output what's coming out of your Sansa.

I can get it to play my MP3 but I want to download it to the MP3 of the radio
so i don't have to worry about my player going dead. The radio says MP3 right on it?

It says MP3 but that means that it can play MP3s (i.e., on CD or USB storage devices such as a USB stick or a Sansa/iPod type device), but it's not capable of storing anything.

Your alternative is to pull the songs off your Sansa and then burn them to CD. Another way to do it is to go to your local electronics store, buy a 32 GB USB flash stick, and transfer all your music to the USB flash stick. USB flash sticks don't need battery power to run, so just leave the stick in your truck. Of course this means that you negate the need to have a Sansa in your truck in the first place, but a USB stick is more convenient anyway. ;-)

Hope that helps?

Timid1, thanks for your patience! It hit me after I thought about it that later model H-D's have a MP3 player that just play MP3 disk. I like the Flash stick idea because you can always add to it. Thanks again for your time.
