New 6.4 owner, New Your Help

have a 2008 F250 6.4 PSD. lariat, level kit, ranch hands and 285/65/20's.

I am new to Dieselstop, Thanks for having me. I have a few questions?

Question 1? What is the exspected fuel economy to exspect for this 08 F250. When I pulled off the lot I was getting 13.9 , I have had the truck for 2 weeks and now im getting 12.5 ish, any help here. Also I have heard, after the truck breaks in, I should get closer to 16 mpg, this was told by another f250 owner. Is there truth to this or was this person and the dealer blowing smoke up my ass.

Question 2? Does the Job 1 2 3 have any impact on my SD. The truck had sit on the lot for a while. Does the Job # have any impact, I have read some of the post and multiple post reference this.

Question 3? What type of programmer do you suggest for mpg gain and performance. My 05 F250 SD 6.0 with a Triple dog from bullydog blew this 08 out of the water. Need to put something on here quick. Its driving me crazy.

when i had my truck stock and had about 4K on it, 16 was attainable. 65-70 on the freeway. mostly 12ish in town.

those different jobs just came with different options, each job (1,2,3) has more crap available than the last. Job 3's also have different axle ratio's availalbe. if you search you will find this info.

i would wait a while on this. they are still early in the devolopment stages. sct has a good tuner out. i prefer it to the edge because it actually controls the tranny. i think innovative diesel should have some custom tuning available soon.

Hope this helped

Thanks

Thanks for the help, I was wondering if anyone new more than me on these 08's. I have had alot of people look at the thread but no sugestions!

Where is the best place to research the Job #s.

Mine had been sitting on the lot for a while, I bought it because oa aditional $2000 from ford. Im guessing its a # 1 or 2. how would I find out or does it really matter.

Thanks, Your local law enforcement.

Your job number should be listed under the options on your window sticker. If not, what is the build date? I believe that can be found on your driver's door. As far as the mileage goes, what kind of driving are you doing? mixed highway/city or just city? I am getting between 12.5 and 14 on my Dually with 4.10 rear gearing. I presume yours has 3.73 rear gears in it? That can be found on your sticker as well. Hope this helps...

thats a job 1 truck, same as mine. Another easy way to tell is if your air damn is 2" or 4"

Didn't have time to find some previous posts but they are recent. try doing a search for tuners or programmers. Lot of commentary on the 08s and upgrades
