Opinions on your paint...

I LOVE my F-250..But everytime I wash it I get weaker and weaker on the absolutley HORRID paint job this came from Ford with...

It almost borderline looks like brail there is so much orange peel...

I have considered having it wet sanded..but am not sure on how thick the paint is...

Is anyone else displeased with the paint on thier Super Duty?

Don't mean to rub salt on the wound, but did you check the paint closely when you took delivery of the truck. I told my salesman to go back inside while I went over mine inch by inch.

I would make lots of noise with your dealer to try to get them to fix it.

I have never been overly happy with fords paint. I really dont think mine is bad enough to have fixed though. I had on of my super duties repainted due to a county truck blasting me with slush and stones. I never thought it was quite the same after that. Not that it wasn't a great job. Mabye it's all in my head.

I have owned quite a few different brands and all of them have had orange peel to some degree. Nissan had it pretty bad, but the worst was my F150. You could see the texture from a LONG way off. This truck has it but not nearly as bad as those other two had it, so it doesn't bother me. I don't know what level of peel would make a dealer opt to repaint it for you, but doesn't hurt to ask if you really hate it.

On my truck there seems to be gravel or something abrasive right under the fuel door for about 1.5 inches
I rubbed it with my thumb and the blue paint came off
Also on the passenger side front door there is a 1/8 inch bubble missing paint as well
Talked to the dealer and he said what the h#$% we will fix that for you no problem
I think I will book it when my replacement chrome stepd come in as mine were showing rust on them at 3500 miles of highway only

Mine is a wreck. The tailgate looks horid from an angle and the rest of the truck has little specks here and there. Looks like the paint gun was gummed up and splattered. Other than the paint I love the new truck.

I did spend about a half hour going over (Everything was fine damage wise)...But I was VERY excited and now the longer I have it the more it bothers me (Paint)..

Is this something that is covered under warrenty? I have the silver and if you look at it at an angle the paint is blotchy like you can tell where paint is thicker in spots...

Maybe I need to go and look at other silver ones and compare!!

What kind of stink did you raise?

And what was the reasoning you gave them for demanding a new paint job?

Thanks in advance

Wow..Guess I'm lucky. I had a F-450 Black over silver and F-350 White over tan...Both look good to me...I have waxed both trucks...No paint issues here

I took it to ford and ask them what they intended to do about it. I paid to have th entire truck painted, 1 color. Not splotchy, poorly painted and looking like ****. Only problem is, the damn truck has been in the shop almost 3 weeks now

I have noticed the blotches in my paint too. They look like rub marks or blemished streaks, except they won't buff or rub out.

In the meantime, the paint is the least of my concern with the truck. The big problem right now is electrical. Once the dealership's service dept. figures out what is going on with my electrical system (power driver's seat, power mirrors, brake/accel. pedal adjustment, seat memory controls - system failure), and gets it all straightened out, I will then address the crappy paint job.
