Over sized fuel tank, oem location

Who has one? How are they holding up. Anything, any brand to watch out for? I want to get one, I don't have room in the bed for and aux tank.

Look at Transferflow and/or Titan tanks. They mount in OEM position and allow up to 60 gallons depending on bed and cab configuration. The Transferflow is an aluminum constructed tank, the Titan is a similar material to the stock tank.

Do a search on here or other locations for people who have installed them. Those are the two that I'm looking at for my install.

I have the 62 gal tank from Aero. AeroTanks-we specialize in auxiliary fuel tanks.. It is 'Aluminized Steel', whatever that means. I also have the optional steel skid plate welded to the bottom of the tank. I have never had a problem.

I'm leaning towards putting the 67gal Titan on my F350 to replace the factory 38gal. I like that it's the same poly type material as the factory tank, and doesn't add much weight beyond the additional fuel it holds.

Like my Transfer Flow on my 08. Have 2 97s that have them and they have held up fine through all the salt and snow around here

I've had the titan tank now for about 50,000 miles. Totally trouble free. It's great being able to drive 800+ miles on a tank. Fill-up does cause me to go into shock sometimes though!

I use the titan and like it alot. I found that it was alittle loose and called titan, they called me back right away and sent me the new rubber pads they have. Excellent customer service.
I had the transferflow and the powdercoating fell off in 6 mos.

Although its not a replacement tank I also have the Aero 65 gal. Whether its a replacement for OEM or in bed aux tank, they have a great reputation from what research I have found.

+1 for Transferflow. I live in Los Angeles, California and drove up to Chico, California just to have them install my tank. I have the in-bed 50 gallon toolbox/tank combo. It's pretty sweet, and if I'm light on the pedal I can usually get 1400 to 1500 miles out of the fill-up. It usually costs me ~$250 to fill up, but I only have to do it every 5 or 6 weeks. No problems with the Transferflow!!! Great stuff.

From your post I take it your from the school of , fill all the tanks up and I will run the dry.. no worries about dropping MPG due to extra weight of carrying extra fuel?

I will guess that with these trucks the extra weight does not even matter? I know its only an additional 400-500 lbs but doesn't the lighter the better apply?

I know I am heavier than most rigs out there right out of the gate. Now add the tools, hitch and then other stuff carried in tool box and I am a bit more. I would think I would not see the best mileage that way.

I don't think the extra weight would affect these truck MPG wise. Now if we were talking several thousand pounds more, that's another story.

I've been keeping fuel logs since day one. I didn't really notice a dip in economy, honestly. If you're replacing your tank as opposed to adding to it like I did, I'm doubtful it'll make too much of a difference.
